It should be easy to set up unless it's faulty, it's a case of setting it up throug a web based menu through your internet browser; but to find instructions on how to set it up, you need to look underneath the extender for the version and then click on the link below:- http://www.dlink.co.uk/?go=jN7uAYLx/oIJaWVTALoeU8H8g50JcLpcX43jIuejxxi6E4R7gbckLJIhMa5i7DQlHA==

Range Extender DWL-G710 & Wireless N Router DIR-615

Try to configure your new router and you have to reconfigure the Range extender to tally with the new router. The IP Address that the range extender should have should depend on the DHCP server of your router that provides the IP Address.

Got a DWL-G710 wireless extender that will not

First I would try a reset, as this extender should would with your default settings of your network.
I would suggest just giving your router a reset. Here are the procedures for your particular router:
Reset Procedure
Step 1 Locate the reset pinhole on the back of the unit.

Step 2 With the unit powered on, press and hold the Reset button.

Step 3 Hold the Reset button for about 10 seconds.

Step 4 Release the Reset button.

Step 5 The unit will reboot. Allow 20-30 seconds before reconnecting.

Step 6 The device is now at factory defaults.

make sure to setup your wireless security again and make sure to set an admin password on your router after the restart.

DWL-G710 won't connect to 192.168.0.30

Here is a link to the manual for your DWL-G710.
D-Link manual on page 13 it lists the url entry should be
"http://192.168.0.30" This is a HTTP link not a HTTPS.
Also the address you typed in might be a typo. The IP address should be 192.168.0.30 not 192.168.0.30.

GOOD LUCK!!!!

No internet connection via DWL-G710

Your extender may not be able to talk to the router. Make sure you have set default gateway in extender to IP of the router. Turn off encryption first. Check the router if extender shows up in active client list or active mac address list.

Router Configuration in "Wireless Client" Mode

Hi, If I understand you right, what you want to do is to make the DI-524 as a repeater, i.e. receive from the "external wireless access point" and re-broadcast to your "small home wireless LAN". Unfortunately, no. D-Link made it a point not to enable repeater mode in the DI-524 model (firmware has no support for wireless distribution service). Other than your old DWL-900AP+, one other model they have that can do this is the DWL-G710 but only in WiFi and not in the Ethernet port. On some other brands of similar feature models, the original manufacturer's firmware may be replaced with an open source firmware with more features enabled. An example is the LinkSys' WRT54G and the replacement firmwares by Sveasoft and another named DD-WRT. Hope this be of some information to you. Post back should you require additional information. Good luck and kind regards.
