Problem setting up bluetooth device with Palm Treo

I have a Palm Treo (700 or 750, not sure) and I am trying to set up bluetooth with a handsfree devise (BlueAnt) for my car. I go through the steps as directed, but can't make it past selection of the device. Once I select it, I have no prompt to put in the security code and it will not add it to my trusted device list. Is it a problem with my phone or the handsfree device I have (BlueAnt)? What do I do?

Bluetooth connetion with Verizon Treo 700P

Looks like your saying you've updated your n?vi 660 to software(firmware) version 2.0, if so you're moving in the right direction. Unfortunately the n?vi 660 does support the Treo 700P but only seems to support the 'Hands-free' BlueTooth profile and this is often problematical as is the 'headset' profile with some device combinations, that's precisely why many phones and devices now support both profiles. Check the pairing information to see if you're using 'headset' or 'Hands-free', whatever you're using delete the pairing on both devices and see if they will let you pair in the other profile. Your Treo 700P is made by PalmOne ( so you may want to check for software updates from them. This kind of problem is down to the lack of a solid standard for BlueTooth communications and you will often find that settings that work for one combination of devices are unstable with another. Post back if this doesn't help or if you need us to clarify anything.

The nuvi 3790T shouldnt have any issues with your phone, try your phones bluetooth setting to see if the nuvi is set as its handsfree device. Also make sure the phone has enough power to use bluetooth, when the battery is low bluetooth wont work.

Hope this helps!

Navigate on your Vr3 phone through the main menu to "Settings," "Bluetooth," "Handsfree" and "New Device."

Try choosing "other" from the types of phones listed when pairing. In the list of "other" phones that appears, choose "extended character set". That worked for my Palm Centro.

You need to put it in "discovery" mode first. I do not think it has a full stereo BT profile, it only accepts a regular headset profile.
