Question about HP PSC 1610 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Copier printing all black.

My problem started with a black line going down the middle of my document. Now it copies completely black. I can print from my computer but I am unable to place a document into my copier and have it not turn out black. Any ideas?

I have the HP PSC 1610 All-in-One. The print option works perfectly, however when I try to make a copy of anything, the page comes out completely black. I don't know if there is bulb or something that needs to be changed. The User Guide offers no help with this problem. Don't know what to do from this point now.

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

Lines

I will give you all the reasons I can think of.
1, If the line is only there when running through a document feeder and not there off the glass. The small strip of glass directly under the document feeder is dirty.
2. The drum has a scratch on it, or the cleaning blade is not cleaning the drum properly. Would require that cartridge replacement.
3. The fuser roller may be work in the middle. You would notice some reprinting , or ghost copying if that were bad.
4. Less likely would be some piece of fuzz in the light path, or a small piece of paper or tape in the paper path smearing the ink across the page.
If your machine prints, see if the line is on a print, if its on a print and not on the copy then it is scanner related.

Black lines

Not sure what you have tried but if there are no lines when printing but there when scanning there is something on the scanner. Could be something as small a single dot of dirt and it will put a line down the whole page. Try cleaning the glass.
