Start by trying to do a repair of your filesystem using your original Operating System disk. (What OS are you running)

You should be able to boot from the CD, if not check your BIOS settings and make sure the cd is set to be a boot device. Then go through the installation instructions and select repair, that will reinstall the system files without losing your data.

If the repair works, one of the first things i would do is update your virus software and run a full scan as well as perform a chkdsk /R
to make sure there are no bad blocks on the drive. Something cause that system file to get corrupted.

Let me know if you need more help with this.

My computer is saying BootMgr is missing !!!

Bootmgr is missing is an error from your system. The most common reasons for BOOTMGR errors include corrupt and misconfigured files, hard drive and operating system upgrade issues, corrupt hard drive sectors, an outdated BIOS, and damaged or loose hard drive interface cables. you can fix it by the following steps:

Firstly, create a bootable CD/USB byWindows Boot GeniusSecondly, set the computer boot from CD/USB after enter into the BIOS menu.Thirdly, start Fix "Bootmgr is missing" with the CD/USB created at the first step.

PCI Slot 5 (PCI bus 1, device 7, function 0) IN DEVICE MANAGER THERE IS A YELLOW QUESTION MARK NEXT TO PCI MODEM.EVERYTHING SEEM TO BE WORKING NORMALLY BUT WHEN I START MY COMPUTER I AM BEING INFORMED...

If you don't need the modem, you can safely disable this questionmarked device in Device Manager, so it does not nag you every time you start Windows.

As far as the disk is concerned, you may try going to Disk Management (in XP you right click My Computer and choose Manage, a Computer Management window will show Disk Manager will be on the list near the end).
Study the list of volumes listed in Disk Manager; if you see a volume of more-or-less the same capacity as your ext. disk, and without a drive letter assigned, than right-click that volume and choose Assign / Change Drive Letter. Choose a letter farther into the alphabet so it doesn't interfere with any existing volumes - my favorite is X: for eXternal :) - and confirm.
After that operation the drive should appear in My Computer.

The computer turns on and has the thinkpad start up but while that's starting up it sounds like my hard drive is making a clicking noise. is it supposed to do that? Also, after that screen it beeps and...

It sounds as though you have a faulty hard drive. The system recognizes that your hard drive has a problem, and is unable to correct it. Unforunately, there is a very, very low chance that you will be able to get any data off of the drive.

Contact Lenovo; if you are still under warranty, they will walk you through steps in order to determine if your hard drive truely is defective. They will also be able to replace your hard drive and reinstall the operating system at no charge.

If you are not under warranty, you will have to take your laptop to a local computer repair shop, or use a service such as Geek Squad, and have them replace your disk (for a price).

A frozen computer is an indication of least memory capacity. aslo, a frozen program during computer restoration is an indication that no hard drive exists in the motherboard on which programs would be loaded onto the desktop.

The computer is missing two parts
1. a hard drive storage
2. a disk driver on which programs would be downloaded on the computer

fixing the problem
1. first perform a hardware parts observation
2. acquire missing parts

My computer says "No hard

One of two things is probably the case:

1. Your hard drive is missing and a new one will need to be installed.

2. Your hard is not missing, but it has become loose and either from its housing or where the housing connects to the laptop.

Please give a detailed description of the manufacturer and model of your laptop so someone may give you clear detailed instructions for how to check to see if you hard drive is either missing or if it has come loose somehow.

Hard drive on an eMachine computer desktop has crashed. Computer won't boot. Is there anyway to get files off the crashed hard drive?

take the hard drive to a local computer guru... recovery will depend on what caused the crash, and what has happened since then. Basically, he or she will need to try to boot your hard drive with another tower, or pull all the info directly from the disks themselves. If you had to ask this question, you're gonna need help to fix it.... Sorry.

300-6 cylinder runs fine cold but the farther you drive it developes a dead miss ; all tune up has been done

It may be your ignition coil. After the engine has run awhile, the coil gets hot, and starts to break up. Have you isolated this miss to 1 cylinder or does it seem to affect all cylinders?

Errors and missing NTLDR

This means you have two hard drives in your computer and the drive that is set to master does not contain an operating system. Take the case off the computer and remove both hard drives. There are four pins between the power plug and a wide grey belt that attaches to each hard drive. There should be a little white thing that connects to two of the eight pins. On your hard drive, there is a diagram of where to put the little white thing. Put the little white thing on the "Master with Slave present" setting on the hard drive with the operating system. Set the other hard drive to "slave". Re-attach both hard drives to the computer. Start it up! and it should work. If it dosn't work, check your boot sequence.
