I think that that is a regular phone line type cable/wire. Check with your owners manual to be sure. If you have misplaced your owners manual then follow this link to download it. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-lYwGyrh5jMw/p_280MX300/Canon-PIXMA-MX300.html Looks to be a regular USB cable to connect printer to computer. If still unable to determine if this is the correct cable call Canon customer service at 1-800-385-2155

Hope this helps. Ratings are very important to us so I want to thank you in advance for taking a moment to rate my response.

This is the PC fax facility, unless until you entered the fax number job wont go any ware,,.PC fax facility is very good feature that with out document you can type and send the faxes through this facility as well as your files..Better to rename the drivers as "fax" to avoid confusion...

FAX Machine problem

Reinitialize and check the fax machine
  1. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the fax machine and from the wall outlet. The fax machine will reinitialize when it is plugged back in. You must disconnect the power cord, turning the fax off using the power button will not reinitialize the fax. Leave the power cord disconnected for now.
  2. Verify that the phone cable is fully inserted into the fax machine. If your model has a removable line interface unit (LIU) that the phone line plugs into, verify that it is securely snapped in place. If the fax is an HP Officejet R80 series model, also verify that the cable that runs from the automatic document feeder assembly to the back of the all-in-one base is connected.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the unit and then plug it in to the wall outlet. After the fax reinitializes and is ready, try to send and receive faxes again. If the problem still exists, continue to Step two: Check the connections.

My HP 6310 printer / fax is too far away from the phone line. Is there a way to fax wirelessly using this printer?

Only if you have fax software on your computer and scan an image to the computer to fax, otherwise you need a really long phone cable you can buy at Radio Shack or Best Buy.

Fax

To test your fax setup
1 Press Setup.
2 Press 6, and then press 5.
This displays the Tools menu and then selects Run Fax Test.
The HP all-in-one displays the status of the test on the color graphics display and prints a report.

3 Review the report.
– If the test passes and you are still having problems faxing, check the fax
settings listed in the report to verify the settings are correct. A blank or
incorrect fax setting can cause faxing problems.
– If the test fails, review the report for information on how to fix any problems
found. For more information, you can also see the next section, The fax test
failed.
4 Press OK to return to the Setup Menu.

Make sure you used the phone cord supplied in the box with your HP all-in-one
to connect to the telephone wall jack. One end of this special 2-wire phone
cord should be connected to the port labeled "1-LINE" on the back of your
HP all-in-one and the other end to your telephone wall jack

This special 2-wire cord is different from the more common 4-wire phone cords
you might already have in your home or office. Check the end of the cord and
compare it to the two types of cords shown below.

If you used the 4-wire phone cord, disconnect it, find the supplied 2-wire cord,
and then connect the 2-wire cord to the port labeled "1-LINE" on the back of
your HP all-in-one. For more information on connecting this phone cord and
setting up your HP all-in-one for faxing, see Fax setup.
If the supplied phone cord is not long enough, you can extend it. For
information see The phone cord that came with my HP all-in-one is not long
enough.
● Try connecting a working phone and phone cord to the telephone wall jack
that you are using for the HP all-in-one and check for a dial tone. If you do not
hear a dial tone, contact your telephone company and have them check the
line.
● Other equipment, which uses the same phone line as the HP all-in-one, might
be in use. For example, you cannot use your HP all-in-one for faxing if an
extension phone is off hook, or if you are using your PC modem to send an email
or access the Internet.
● The phone line connection might be noisy. Phone lines with poor sound quality
(noise) can cause faxing problems. Check the sound quality of the phone line
by plugging a phone into the telephone wall jack and listening for static or
other noise. If you hear noise, turn Error Correction Mode (ECM) off and try
faxing again. For information, see Use error correction mode. If the problem
persists, contact your telephone company.
● If you are using a digital subscriber line (DSL) service, make sure that you
have a DSL filter connected or you will not be able to fax successfully. The
DSL filter removes the digital signal and allows your HP all-in-one to
communicate properly with the phone line. Obtain a DSL filter from your DSL
provider. If you already have a DSL filter, make sure it is connected correctly.
Make sure your HP all-in-one is not connected to a telephone wall jack that is
set up for digital phones. To check if your phone line is digital, connect a
regular analog phone to the line and listen for a dial tone. If you do not hear a
normal sounding dial tone, it might be a phone line set up for digital phones.
● If you are using either a private branch exchange (PBX) or an integrated
services digital network (ISDN) converter/terminal adapter, make sure the
HP all-in-one is connected to the port that is designated for fax and phone
use. Also, make sure that the terminal adapter is set to the correct switch type
for your country/region, if possible.
Note that some ISDN systems allow you to configure the ports for specific
phone equipment. For example, you might have assigned one port for
telephone and Group 3 fax and another port for multiple purposes. If you
continue to have problems when connected to the fax/phone port, try using the
port designated for multiple purposes; it might be labeled "multi-combi" or
something similar. For information on setting up your HP all-in-one with a PBX
phone system or ISDN line

Could not receive and send Fax

Sending faxes and revieng faxeng through a pbx you need te configure the pbx and youre fax too.( Dail a 0 before youre messages! ) You have to connect always on the pstn line on the 210sf even if you use a pbx.

The Ricoh spc210sf isn't supporting an pbx on isdn line!! Watch out for this because the isdn line is working on 24Volts!! Then you can blow youre fax modem of the spc210sf .

You can contact me true email= r.trip@alice.nl
