Go to start>programs>accessories>system tools Disk Defragment.

Analyze the disk to see if it needs defragged.
You may also have a memory issue. Low memory can also cause this.

Put in new battery and it still won't charge

The first thing you need to find out is if your AC adapter is actually working.
Measure the voltage output. It should be about 18 volts or so.
If it is not putting out the voltage, it won't charge the battery and you will need a new adapter.
If it's OK, then your motherboard is bad.

There is no sound coming from the computer speakers. I have dowloaded drivers to no avail.

plug in headphones to see if you get audio... Audio Controller Could Be Faulty..

Try Uninstalling the Audio Drivers from Device Manager, Reboot

Last resort, Reinstall windows

If still no audio, It's most likely the controller chip which is integrated on motherboard, Highly doubtful that the speakers themselves are bad...

Hello there:
when you replaced the hard dive did you go into the bios and make sure that the harddrive was recognized and set up as the primary drive.
also you may be able to get around this by pressing the reset buttona on the back of the unit and hold in and turn on the power at the same time
than release after 10 seconds and if this still doesent work try to boot by pressing the f12 key as it starts up ok?
best regards michael
