This is something you should probably talk to the manufacture about or check either on google, craigslist.com, or ebay.com because you may become supprised and find just what you are looking for. In a lot of cases, when you fire up your pc with the camera plugged in, the pc will say found new hardware. Just let it run. When it is done, go to my computer and your pc will gain another drive. This drive is youor camera. Use programs on your pc to process pictures.
I don't know which model your camera is, however you can install the drivers that would have been included on your CD from the Vivitar website at the below link:

Anyway, you can download the images to your computer and view them there. Either hook the camera up to your computer via the cable that came with it.
Or, you'll need a card reader & take the card out and hook up the reader to the 'puter and insert card.
If you're using Xp a image downloading wizard thingy will pop-up and walk you thru the process.
If not, after hooking camera or card up to 'puter, click on "my computer" find your device and click on it to open & view photos there.
And transfer images to your computer too.
