How do you know it's clogged? Most Kenmore washing machines have a belt that drives the pump and agitator. If the agitator is not working either, then you will need to replace the belt.

Please provide the complete Model number for additional help. The number is usually found on printed on a tag on the back of the washing machine.

If newer vintage, you have a rubber drive coupling that turns pump. take case of unit (Under concole are2 screws and clips). Take cover off(Unplug lid switch wire harness) and you'll see pump right in front of you. take off two clips to epose coupling. fairly easy job. replace pump while at it.

Pump won't drain water and keeps faulting for pump cleaning. Have turned it off, unplugged pump filter, cleaned it and restarted it several times with no luck. What else could be wrong??

Check to see if there is a drain filter. My GE has a small "door" at the bottom of the machine that has a filter behind it. If so ALL of the water will drain when you open it so be prepared. Then clean all of the junk from inside the filter or "trap"

We are getting code 37 . we have a top load machine Intuitive model - what does that mean?

37 is slow or no pump out.check that water is flowing out at a good stream.if not then pump is either jambed with debris or blocked.the water needs to be bucketed out as much as possible then tilt machine back against the wall as far as you can so any eccess water is to the back of the tub. With machine unplugged from wall lay down on the floor & unplug wires from pump.release plastic locking tab & twist out pump anti clockwise, remove ant debris.

Spin cycle does not work.Water does not drain. When I run it, I get multiple beeps. The manuals to turn off and unplug. Repeat if necessary. Problem not solved.

Unplug the machine slide it out and tip back so you can reach under it. In the front corner underneath is the pump with a paddle wheel type fan on it that shpould turn very freely. If it is turning freely and won't pump it is either the pump or motor controller board.
Most likely something stuck in it though, try turning it to free it, If that works pump out the water if you can and then remove the pump. If it won't turn remove all the water you can, tip back at least 45 degrees and disconnect the 2 plugs from the pump (power unplugged first) then remove the pump by turning anticlockwise, it will first move just a little and stop, at this point realse the catch that is stopping it turning further and remove. clear what ever is blocking it. If the pump is rusty or the copper windings appear burnt (will be darker in the middle section REPLACE THE PUMP.
Re fit the pump, make sure it turns freely, if not take it off and try again.

My washing machine fills up with water and then won't drain. The buttons on the top panel freeze when it gets to the spin cycle- HELP!

This is a very common probem with the main control boards if they are push buttons. If it has a selector switch, that is most likely at fault.

Hi, you got a water pump problem, some time small object (handkerchief, coins etc. ) can get into pump impeller, or possible your pump motor burnt out, remove back panel of machine, locate water pump, (device where all hoses connected to) remove hoses from water pump and clean hoses and water pump, you can check water pump winding, remove 2 wires, from pump terminals, check with ohm meter, place tester leads one on each terminal of water pump, if you get a beep sound, water pump is o/k, if you didn't get a beep, replace water pump, you are smart, you can do this, but first try to clean water pump, that could just be your problem remember to unplug your washer before you start any repairs. good luck.

Won't stop filling with water

Does the water continue to run when the washer is unplugged from power?  If it does, then there is something stuck in the inlet valve that is keeping it open.  Could be the result of mineral deposits.  If the water stops when unplugged then the water limit switch is defective.  Unlikely since the water still flows when control knob is in off position.

Water does not drain out from my washer

I have determined one of the reasons ( I feel this is the primary reason) why many BOSCH washing machines will not drain the water, Bosch uses the same drain pump in many of their 500-800 series washing machines, part number 436440. The drain pump is a electrical controlled magnetic driven pump. Simply a electrical current produces an electrical field which a magnet rotates, spinning the pump blades. I have determined that the internal seal on the pump part is allowing water to leak into the magnet area of the pump. This is causing corrosion, and water build up around the magnet, interfering with the magnetic field. How I came to this conclusion. After removing the end of the pump, and allowing the water to drain out, drying out the pump, the pump will work as advertised. But of course the pump cannot be used in this condition. A new pump is required. To determine this yourself, if the machine is not under warranty (good luck getting service). Unplug machine, remove back panel, unplug the drain pump, remove drain pump (separating the drain pump from the large plastic holder, there are three screws holding it to the housing). You can shake the pump, and if water comes out of it this is most likely the problem. Now hook the pump back up to its electrical feed, and place it on a rubber sheet. Set the machine to drain, if the pump attempts to spin then stops, or hums this is the problem.

You,ve done a good job the first time the pump fail MikieM. You can do it again. We sometimes forget to empty our pocket. Some small metal things could have gotten into the pump...could be other hard foreign object. Good luck.
