Intermitant car alarm problems on a 96 ford fiesta

This alarm goes off its just a beep beep but its only intermitant it might go off 5 times in aday for no reason and then behave for weeks this is a factory fitted ford alarm

    yeah its definalty a factory fitted alarm with an immobaliser.

    There's no way to turn the alarm off when its going, as the engine won't start. It just has to be left until it stops.

    Any ideas much appreciated.

I really don't think you have an immbobilizer, but if you are handy.. look behind dash at ignition harness try and find a blk/blu or grey wire, see if it is cut going to a relay of some sort, if so cut relay out and recoonect wires back together, see if car starts ....

You can get this code from the dealer but they will charge you between £20 to £35 for doing this.

I am unable to lock my car without the alarm going off!

it is some component or reciever in the car that recieves the signal of the allarm button or whatever is messed up or malfunctioning of course.

ok that happened to me. I installed an alarm without wiring oen wie and the alarm would go off even when i had the car started. There should be a yellow wire on the alarm module called accessory wire. This wire needsto be tapped into the thick yellow wire in your ignition area. For more help eail me at

Radio code needed

The radio will have to be removed from the car dashboard .Then please quote the SERIAL NUMBER...usually beginning with M + + + + + +

I have a 96 s-10 that has a code alarm 1000 SE.

Look for purple wire in the ignition harness, it will be cut going to a relay and then back to the opposite side of the purple wire, cut this out and connect purple to purple... it will start every time now (provideing this was the propblem)

This is a common problem after changing the Key Fob battery.

The solution is to remove the fuse feeding the Cental Locking for 10 minute...Replace then all should work fine
