When viruses come in, ALWAYS have a antivirus ready and up -dated. you might not even know where its gonna land in the computer. Computers that slow down are related to viruses that come from unprotected computers. there is two ways to get rid of virus if you think that it is still in the computer. 1-- backup files to another harddrive. 2--- Restore Computer. restoring the computer will remove all data from computer and it will remove certain viruses. Back up to different harddrive and then restore is another option. when you do get a virus shut down computer and then remove ethernet cable from computer. data is lost from virus if you do that.

Good Luck

Download http://www.malwarebytes.org/ install it and reboot into safemode. Run the scan in safemode and allow it to delete everything. Reboot and then run a scan in normal mode. After that you should be good to go. Its one of the best applications out and its free. Also try superantispyware you can google it and find the download. Do the same for that application also.

Hi Michelle Smith...
You may have a virus/trojan/worm in your notebook.
To remove a virus, trojan, worm, etc from your computer...do it the EASY way...let someone else do it for you.
Start your computer in the Safe Mode.
To start the computer in the safe mode: As the computer is starting keep tapping the F1, F2 or F8 Key depending on your computer.
This will start the computer in the Safe Mode.
Once in the safe mode go to the following webage below and download, install, and run Microsoft Safety Scanner for FREE.
Once you run the Microsoft Safety Scanner (it may take quite a while depending on the size of your hard drive) it will remove all the virus's,trojans, worms, etc it finds, if it does not completely remove them all you will be given a chance to chat with a Microsoft Professional thru a pop open window and he will take control of your computer (with your permission) and finish removing all the rest of the virus's, trojans, or worms that are on your computer for FREE!! Can't beat FREE!!

PC extremely slow

Systems: all unresponsive computer systems

CTRL-ALT-DELETE will bring up the "Windows Task Manager", which will tell you which process/presesses are (a) chewing up all your CPU time, (b) causing the OS to thrash the page file (PAGEFILE.SYS), or (c) both of the above in a combination.

Note that for efficient operation, a CPU should not be utilized more than about 66% - above this and the system logarithmically wastes cycles getting out of its own way, with too many CPU Cycles devoted to OS housekeeping and dealing with expired timers (both internal and on the network). Note also that no military commander nor accounting executive has the science/math backround to understand this.
Look for larger-than-the-others "Mem Size" "VM Size" and "Paged Pool", combined with & huge increasing numbers of "I/O Other Bytes" - these processes are causing the thrashing.
The other major cause of an unresponsive system is, of course, viruses, worms, trojan horse(es), rootkits, spyware, malware, tracking cookies, supercookies. Update your anti-virus definitions database and perform a "deep scan."

Acer aspire one D250-0BK keeps freezing

There are many things that might cause your PC to run slowly or restart at time and then. It could be a fragmented disk; fragmented registry; a virus, Trojan, or spy ware; high CPU and/or utilization due to too many programs running; high disk I/O; or something else.

To check your CPU and memory utilization, run Task Manager. You can start Task Manager by pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL and then clicking on the Task Manager Button. In Task manager, click on the Performance tab and check CPU Usage and PF Usage. PF Usage is an indicator of memory usage. If one or both of these is high, click on the Processes tab, and sort the columns by CPU or Memory to see what processes are consuming the resource. If you are not sure what the process "Image name" is for, Google the name and you should find what the process is for.

If your CPU and memory usage are reasonable, then you may have a different issue. Even if you running anti-virus software, it may be beneficial to scan your PC with another scanner to check for viruses. No anti-virus software is 100% perfect at catching everything. Here are a few good free online virus scanners that you can run to check your PC:

I have trojan like which can affect my laptop hack password take out my credit card details.

Have you got an anti-virus program?
If you have did it remove this trojan virus?
If you have not an anti-virus program or the program cannot remove this trojan, then I recommend you format the hard drive and reinstall Windows, the laptop device drivers and your programs.
This is the only sure way to remove such a threat.
Although this is a drastic method, it is better to be sure you do not lose your money to crooks. After installing Windows, install a good quality anti-virus program and keep the virus definition files updated regularly.

Chrome mouse on laptop freezes, get stuck...advice

Ok..now that I have more information about your pointer problem, yes, there could be a trojan virus causing it.Best thing to do first is,using your other mouse, boot your computer up into safemade by tapping the F8 key untill you reach a black diagnostics screen. At the top of the list you will see "safemode",using the arrow keys on your keypad, move up to "safemode" and press Enter, then wait for the boot to finish. This procedure allows you to get inot windows with services and drivers only needed to help fix many problems.Sometimes there are trojans that will use certain windows services or programs you installed to run.Using safemode allows you to "get in" your computer without those programs and services running. After you get into safemode and your all booted up,see if you can use your synaptics pointing device normally,if so,then yes, there is a very good chance you have a trojan or trojans infecting your computer. If so,best thing to do,is open your virus scanner while you are in safemode and do a complete scan,to see if any virus or trojans are present and remove them, then reboot your computer and let it boot back up normally. We will see if any trojans or viruses are in your computer with this methode.Good luck. Please let me know what happens:)

MSCONFIG allows you to stop programs from starting up when you boot up your computer to windows. This is good cause it will allow your computer to run quicker and more efficient cause less memory will be used. Virus protection is important cause it protects your files and Operating System from corrupting on you due to infections from spyware, malware, trojans, viruses, etc. A good free one if you don't have Mcafee or Norton is AVG and its free on the internet from: free.avg.com

Everybody has different opinions on what anti-virus program is good so decide for yourself which way you want to go. Hope this helps.
