Toshiba p-205 monitor peoblems

Up until yesterday my p-205 has been working well. Now the monitor looks like the pictures and lettering are all washed out. Screen turns different colors. At times I see many horizontal lines running through the image on the screen. If I keep moving the screen I can get the picture back but not a good and defined imag, In this email the "I's, t's, l's, k's and several other letters look light gray while the other letters are black. Everything on the screen has a kind of fuzzy texture to it. Please advise..
Thanks,

Jim

Sounds like you have the screen resolution off from the native resolution. Right click on a blank area on the desktop and select Properties. Select the Setting (tab) and more the left slider to the highest setting. If that doesn't work, try lower settings until you find the right one.

If you can get better picture by rotating your scree, then it could be wiring problem, which of course you cannot solve by your own.

Hi madredari556...
It would be a wise thing to recharge the battery and try it again, if it does not work try this solution.

Plug your laptop into an external monitor and see if the picture looks good, if it does then replace your lcd screen.
If it is still the same try reinstalling the drivers, they may need updating.
Please take time to rate me thumbs up

TOSHIBA SATELLITE 205-6267 AND MY ALT KEY NOT WORKING

Hello,

You should have two (2) "alt" on your keyboard. So if one does not work you can use the other.

The two alts are at right and left side of the space bar.

You also have the option of using an external keyboard through your usb.

Take care.

Monitor went black

Hi there,

This is a very common problem,

Most monitors go due to the connection, for example when you open and close the lid this loosens the connection so this is your problem.

You may be able to find and download the service manual on google, and take it step by step from there or take it in for a service.

hope this helps

Need to reset display settings

Hi

Take a look at the keyboard and find the FN button on the bottom left. (The letters FN are in blue)

Now look at the F keys at the top of keyboard and find one that has either a couple of monitor symbols or the letters CRT/LCD - again in blue

Holding down the FN key and press the other key, this should change screens between the external and internal monitors. Don't expect an instant change - it sometimes takes a couple of seconds to do the job.

If that does not work then attach another external monitor, right click on the screen and select properties. Now select the far right tab (settings) and then go to Advanced tab and then select Monitor

Here you should be able to change screens back to the LCD of the laptop
