60' Sony Videoscope KP-53v15

Hi,
I am new too everything that you posted in response to my problem. How can I find the green gun? Do I need to open the back of the tv up? As well I do not know what an HV is as well as the "bad soldier" in the HV section of the flyback. I want to try and get it fixed on my own without having to spend a fortune that I dont have so any information or guidance would be really great! Thanks so much its a kp-53v15......

You have a convergence problem. Here are some of the most common symptoms.

Screen looks 3D
One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
Screen is bowed in but stationary.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

>>>Solution<<<<

You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors.

Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kit for your exact model. The kit includes a photo instruction guide, original Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, etc. Everything you need to fix it yourself.

SOURCE: Screen shakes / jumps vertically on my Sony KP-51HW40

The jitter is called a vertical sync problem. The problem is on the "A" board. It can be replaced or rebuilt but will be quite expensive to service.

My sony projection tv model # kp-46wt500 has a green and red tint. how can i fix it?

Increase the current flow to the blue color gun. If it is not adjustable it will need replaced and this is a major repair. You can try to reduce the red and green guns and increase the output transformer for a temporary fix, but save up your pennies for a replacement. Have a tech look at it before running out for a replacement because the SONY is the better model projection televisions.

KP-57WS500 turning green or red and then off

Green and Red guns seems defective and requires replacement.
Both guns (CRTs) are no longer available so TV has no worth to repair.

TV has sound no picture, Sony Videoscope xbr

Please post both the exact model number (on the back) and the blink count. The standby light should be blinking a repeated pattern. That info will indicate the problem circuit and allow us to provide you with the proper parts/steps to resolve this.

Thanks,

I have a 60" SONY VIDEOSCOPE KP-53V15 the person that i received it from said that the picture sometimes turns pink tinted (the best wasy I can explain this) ... Where things on the screen should be white...

In the back of set you have a red green and blue gun.
two or three problems with sony on this.
sum times the green gun will go intermit.
by gentely taping the neck of green gun while set is on, and you see corection, you need to replace green gun.
in others we have found bad soldier in the HV section of the flyback.
and sumtimes its due to louse conectors going to the HD input in back of the set.
hope this is of help to you.
regards,
daniel.

Our picture is green

This is not a user serviceable problem. Apparently the red and blue screen colour tubes/guns are inactive. Possible open green screen control. Also, if CRT type, the tube may be failing
