Most problems of this symptoms indicates either:
1. Weak battery; or
2. Internal fault (which can either be hardware or software).

Initially, pls try removing the batteries for an hour or so hopefully doing a reset and will work from thereon.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Green light goes on when I turn camera on, but 3 red lights flash when I shoot & nothing happens. I tried changing multiple batteries, all alkaline. No luck yet. Any ideas?

The 3 flashing red lights indicate low battery power! This could be because of low battery power (all 4 batteries must be good), the battery contacts in the camera are poor, the make of battery being used (try different make of battery)

Make sure that you are installing a fresh/ full charge battery
Here are the steps:
1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera.
2. Clean the battery contacts.
a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth.
b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera
3. Without the memory card, turn on your camera.
4. Pls test with an alt. batt.
If you do not have access to a dif. battery.
Pls. take the batt out of the camera. Insert the charger into the unit from the main socket and turn the camera on. If the camera works you will need to replace the batt. If not you will need to order a No power repair.

When I take a picture with fully charged batteries, the recovery is very slow.

Some batteries such as alkaline use a chemical reaction to create energy, these batteries typically do not supply very much current.

Flash cycle time may be longer.

As far as common batteries go, Lithium would be the fastest, followed by NiMH.

If it's still slow, buy a new camera and or external flash ( is a good resource)
