Nikon N75 Camera

When you look down from above the camera onto the LCD. It shows an E. I cannot find my daughter's manual so I am not able to figure out how to find out what is wrong with her camera. She cannot find her manual. What does the "E" mean? I have changed the batteries. Thanks for your help

Re: Nikon N75 Camera

I would check Nikon's website. Most manufacturers have the manual on line as a PDF file, and/or a FAQ that describes common problems and solutions. Otherwise, see if there is a tech help email address or phone number.

I would like to know if a 24mm Nikon f2.8 Ai Manual Focus Lens will work on a Nikon N75 SLR Camera

Yes and no. It will fit and you can take pictures with it. You'll have to focus manually, of course, and you won't get any exposure help from the camera's light meter. You'll have to use the camera in the Manual exposure mode, setting the shutter speed on the camera body and the aperture by turning the ring on the lens and, as I said earlier, without any help from the camera's light meter.

My Nikon N75 says error and there is a flashing circle with a dot in the middle when i look through the lens.... What does this mean?!

If the LCD panel shows "E" then the film isn't loaded properly. If the LCD panel shows "ERR" and "E" blinking, then the film is not correctly advanced. If the LCD panel shows a blinking "E" when the exposure meter is turned on, then film remains in the camera after it has been rewound. In all cases, reload film.

If it's not one of those cases, or if the problem persists, please reply to this post giving further details.

I am confused. Is the N 75 an SLR or 35 mm. My daughter needs a 35 mm for a photography course. She has an N 75.

Both. The Nikon N75 is a 35mm SLR camera. 35mm refers to the size of the film the camera uses. SLR (single-lens-reflex) refers to the design of the camera, which uses the same lens for both viewing and photographing, the film sees the same image you see in the viewfinder.

There are other 35mm cameras that are not SLRs. Likewise, there are SLRs that use other sizes of film.

Will my olmpus lenses fit on a nikon n75 slr 35mm camera

Generally, the lenses used with the Olympus cameras will not be compatible with the Nikon cameras.

However, there are some converter adapters available in the market. You can look for the Olympus to Nikon converter adapters. These adapters will help you in using the Olympus lenses with the Nikon cameras.

My Nikon N75 has F-- on the digital screen

Set the smallest aperture (largest Fnumber) and lock the ring. If the aperture ring doesn't have a lock, you have to switch to manual mode (M on the mode dial).

Turn on camera error

Sounds like a lens compatibility issue. Ensure that you have a compatible lens mounted first (see user guide) and then ensure it is set to its smalles t aperture (F22 for example), otherwise the shutter will freeze and the Error will be displayed.

N75 will not load film

Quick solution: force a manual rewind.
1. Remove film
2. Close camera back.
3. With the power turned on, press the two rewind buttons together. They are marked in red.
4. The camera will make a rewind sound and will stop after about 2 seconds.
5. DO NOT fire the shutter yet.
6. Put the mode on Manual and select a fast shutter speed like 1/90 sec. Any aperture will do.
7. Load the film correctly as given in the user's manual.
8. As you close the camera back, the film will prewind to the end of roll. At the end of the roll pre-wind the LCD will show you the total number of frames available.
9. Select any shooting mode.
10. Go on and take pictures.

Hope this helps
