Question about Kenmore 23313 Whispertone Bagged Canister Vacuum

Kenmore Bagless Issue

When vacuuming my carpet, the Kenmore Bagless vacuum is sucking up the cat hair and dust directly into the filter, instead of into the cannister. This is creating a suction problem that to resolve requires me to stop every few minutes, clean the suction point in the cannister, and restart. What is the best way to solve this problem?

Re: Kenmore Bagless Issue

After cleaning the filter, replace the bag.But this time before you close the lid, make sure you remove the hose.after the lid is closed then put the hose back on.

leaving the hose connected to the lid after closing will create a gap between the bag holder and the just remove the hose first before changing the bag

Doesn't seem to be sucking up dirt well

Bagless vacuum cleaners leave the bulk dirt in a receiver, but they still rely on a paper air filter to trap fine particles of dust. All the air that the vacuum moves passes through that paper filter. When the filter plugs up, it has to be cleaned or replaced. The bagless "primary filters" are much more expensive than vacuum cleaner bags, but if you can afford to replace it whenever the machine's suction is impeded, its the tidyest solution. You can remove the filter and tap it inside a waste can to dislodge some of the dirt that's plugging it. You can use another vacuum cleaner to clean it somewhat better than just tapping it. (It doesn't have to be *your* other vacuum cleaner, it could be borrowed, at the car wash, etc.) You can use compressed air to almost all of of the dirt plugging it, but you'll want to do it outside somewhere that making a clod of dust is acceptable or at least unnoticed. After a dozen or more cleanings the pores of the paper filter will become too plugged to clean well even with compressed air and it will have to be replaced.

Pet hair, sand and large particulate are least likely to plug these filters. Kitty littler, which is pressed pellets of fine clay, clogs these filters very rapidly. The clay pellets break up into very fine dust as they pass through the vacuum and whirl in the dirt cannister. Avoid vacuuming kitty litter, or any other fine clay into a bagless machine as much as possible.

Hi, My Electrolux twin clean vacuum has both red and blue lights flashing and I can not get it to turn on to clean the filters. Any suggestions

Try taking the twin filters outside - also take a dustpan brush and tap the filters gently on the bottom, then brush the dust away as it comes out. This can take quite some time, and you will find that LOTS of compacted dust will come out!

Head not spinning and sucking up

You share a common misconception. There is nothing to spin except the dust in the canister. All plastic parts are static. If you've cleaned the filters as instructed in the manual (download from Dyson website if you're unsure and have lost the original), the most likely problem is that you have a blockage in the pipework. You need to separate the hose and wand, and remove the hose from the machine, and check all through - you will almost certainly find something that shouldn't be there!
Good luck.

Vacuum blows out dust/pet hair etc. when in use

try replacing the belt if you havent. it almost sounds like your getting weak aggitation. if thats not bad, check for a clog in the brushroll housing nozzle right on the inside by the tube. Replace the inside hepa filter if you havent within the last 3 months.

Capture bagless not sucking!

Both ends of the hose will unscrew, allowing you to push out hair and fiber clogs with a broomhandle. There is a coarse filter above the dustcup which will release with a 1/4 turn counterclockwise, allowing you to remove the hair and fiber bundles trapped in the inlet. The filter below the dustcup also tends to clog. Anything more and you have to start getting out the hand tools.

Why is it not sucking? Why the loud noise? I have a Kenmore Progressive bagless

It's plugged up. Maybe pet hair? Take the hose off and run something through it, clean all the filters, clear all airways if necessary

Problems with Eureka 5892AVZ Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum? the cat hair seems to plug up the filter instead of goint to the canister

You may be using the wand/hose without an attachment on it. The attachments on my dyson always allow some air to flow to by, it may be the same on the Eureka. If air flow is completely stopped the cyclone will shut down and then the hair/dust/whatever will flow to the filter. So don't let the air flow be completely shut off during use.

Lift-Off Pet Hair vacuum doesn't lift off pet hair!

very light "stuff" like dog hair will get stuck to the filter since that is where the suction goes. it's primary purpose was to keep dust out of the motor. This is a problem with many "bagless" cleaners. A bagged cleaner keeps all dirt and hair away from filters by utilizing the bag as primary filter. If you have alot of dog hair then this may have been the incorrect choice of a vac. all you can do is brush off the filter each time you use the vac. it will still pick up o.k. even when there is hair on the filter unless you leave it on day after day.

Blows dust and dirt out of brush area

Did you make sure to cut all the strings, hair, etc. out of the brush attachment on the bottom? Look in the corners too to make sure none has gotten stuck on the sides that needs to be cut out.
