Question about HP 10bII Calculator

STuck on screen

HP 10B II
says -4. 'C
on the screen and it keeps comming back to this.
the lower half of the "-4." is fadded away.
Can you help me or do I need to buy a new one?

Take the battery out and put back again it will reset the whole calculator

Display is faint and to light to read


Turn the calculator on. Hold down the "C" key (just above the ON key) and press + to darken the screen. If you go too far, use the C and - keys to lighten the screen.

I wonder what is the model of the battery using on HP 10b


HP 10b Calculator requires two CR2032 Lithium batteries. The battery is 3 Volts, 3/4" in diameter and has an estimated life of three years. Replace the battery with CR2032 or an equivalent one.The following brands are used interchangeably for this item: Energizer (ECR2032), Duracell, Panasonic, Eveready, and 3M etc, which can be purchased from any local electronics store.

Replace the batteries of HP 10B calculator


Make sure the calculator is turned off. Press down and outward on the battery compartment cover until it slides off. Turn the calculator over and shake the batteries out. Insert the new batteries, orienting them according to the diagram inside. Slide the cover back into the slot.

Yes, you need to replace the screen, and it has to be the exact model. LCD screens break all the time, and it's not cost effective to repair them.

BLACK BOX APPEARS IN LOWER HALF OF SCREEN. It GOES AWAY BRIEFLY WHEN CHANGING CHANNELS or adjusting settings.


You have a closed caption setting turned on to text. Its probably near your channel up or down button. Keep pressing it, it will cycle through text1, 2, 3, 4, cc1 and cc2 and off. When you get to off leave it for a few seconds and it should disappear.

Black on lower half of screen


This type of problems and some OSD problems are occurs due to microprocessor over modulation. One option is there. That is if you have any child lock or keypad lock or frontpanel lock. First locked the system. Now check your problem arise. If it is not OK. Otherwise try to find nearby any radio frequency cable across in your tv. keep away that cablewire also. your problem solved. Even you get Call your nearst service provider..
