Question about Uniden Cordless Phone

1 Answer

I recently purchased a GE model 28165 DECT 6.0 2-line cordless phone. I followed the instructions regarding registering the handset and it works well. The problem is that within 24 hours all I get on the handset is static. I then register the handset again and it works for 24 hours or so and then onoly staticf on the handset and I have to register again. I do not have that problem with the base unit.

Same issue as well as having to re register every 24 hours - both handsets. Also annoying beep during conversations - and continous ring on some incoming calls. i.e. the ringer sounds continously untill the call is answered. This firmware has some serious problems!

Hi, I bought two of the same phone for my parents and a friend. They are both messed up. Both have the problem you described. I cannot get any help either. I would love a solution.

Sync

If by "sync a handset" you mean register a handset so it works with the base, then yes. It doesn't even need to be the same model. The manual gives instructions for registering a handset to work with the base. If you need a manual, select the model of your Uniden DECT 6.0 phone from the list beginning at http://www.uniden.com/owners-manuals/dect-phones/scat/dectphones_mnl .

Since you didn't specify the model of your Uniden DECT 6.0 phone I can only suggest you select it from the list beginning here to download the manual. Follow the instructions to register the handset to the base.

Please register on the screen

When you see this 'register' message, it means that that particular DECT handset must be registred to the selected 'Base' station: please consult your User manual/guide for the steps by steps instruction on how to register a new handset to your base station for the specific compatible model(s).

Hope it helps.

Just bought an additional handset for GE 27951 expandable 6.0 DECT Cordless. I press and hold the Page button for 5 seconds but the new handset will not register. Error keeps occurring "no base."

This exact thing happened to me. Same model number. No matter what I did, the new handsets would not register.

The solution? Reset the entire system:
1. On the BASE - Unplug from wall both power and phone line. Unplug battery from base handset.
2. ON the Extension phone - unplug from wall and unplug battery from handset.
3. Wait AT LEAST 5 minutes.
4. Plug back in BASE power.
5. Plug back in BASE phone line.
6. Plug back in EXTENSION handset battery. Don't plug in BASE handset yet.
7. Follow steps to program EXTENSION. When successful:
8. Plug back in BASE handset battery.

GE MODEL 28112 DECT 6.0 CORDLESS PHONE

I contacted GE today and they told me how to get the caller ID to work on the additional handsets. You must follow these steps in the exact order given.

#1 - unplug the base phone
#2 - unplug the telephone line from the base phone
#3 - remove the battery packs from the phones
#4 - wait 10 minutes.

reverse the order when assembling. Put battery packs in phones, put the telephone line back in the base phone and lastly plug all phones back in. It takes about another 10 minutes after that before all phones start recognizing caller ID but it now works fine.

GE Model 27911 DECT 6.0 Additional Cordless Handset not working

I had the same problem. What worked for me, after several unsuccessful registration attempts, was to disconnect the phone handset battery for about 1 min and then reconnect the battery. Run the handset registration procedure again. It registered for me on the first attempt after the battery reinstall. Good luck.

On the base is a button next to the GE logo that says "Do Not Disturb". Pushing that button will enable and disable that feature
