Have looked at the schematics for this cabinet and am unsure as to the location of both defrost thermostats as unclear on drawings. The purpose of the defrost thermostat is to overide the heater and end the defrost cycle, once the temperature on the evaporator is high enough (normally around 0'C). If you have two then one will probably control the heaters going off and the other may well control the fan, for coming back on. I.E. once the defrost has ended the second sensor will tell the fan when the coil is cold enough to come on, this prevents heat being pushed into the main area after a defrost cycle. If you feel competent enough then I would bypass the heater thermostat temporarily and see if the heaters kick in. The other thing to check is that you have a resistance across the two ends of the defrost heater. In my experience the heater is the most likely to fail, the sensor sometimes fail and the timers rarely fail. The age of your cabinet would suggest the heaters. Please do not leave the sensor bypassed as it performs an essential role. Hope this helps.

There is no forced defrost entry for your refrig. Yours has a ADC board in the upper right corner of the control area in the refrig section. The only way to initate defrost is jump the terminals on the board. Look at the wiring diagram closely before making the jump. The board energizes the heater thru the neutral side so make sure you dont jump line to this. I believe you jump L2 to Def

Sounds like your defrost timer is not functioning , it will need to be replaced. Some times the frost free fan can also cause this but I think it will be the defrost timer.
Located under the fridge usually on one of the rear corners.
Pit has like I white round dial on it .

Fridge warm, freezer has frost on back panel & is defrosting, fans work, just changed defrost thermostat, no air is moving from freezer side to fridge side, drain pan under fridge is dry

this fan needs to run when the compressor runs, check fan blade for being jammed by ice if you have this much ice on back wall as ice will stall motor,if no fan there will be no cool air to refrige compartment also the defrost drain tray will fill with water then freeze over which in turn floods the freezer floor and refrige compartments cause it cannot drain to the pan in the bottom

I would suspect a problem in the defrost circuit. I would find the model number on the
inside left of the bottom compartment. Usually when this occurs I replace the defrost
timer as well as the defrost termination thermostat. It sounds as if the defrost circuit
is remaining energized. The parts total should be around 40 dollars. The timer is located
under the cold control cover and the defrost termination thermostat is attached to a
tube in the freezer compartment behind the back panel. These are easy items to replace, the
most difficult part is removing the control panel and freezer cover (each usually has 4 screws)
and a couple holding the tray and vent stack in place.
Make sure to unplug fridge before any work is performed.

Water leaks inside

It's due to wrong temp setting and malfunction of defrost cycling. Keep thermostat setting at 5 degree or little less. And don't keep it in minus,as defrost cycle will take longer time. And also you will get less cooling in fridge compartment and also water leaks.Check drain line hose may freezed. And also freezer tray get blocked due to over frosting around freezer. Defrost manually by unplug your fridge and after defrost all ices, plug again and keep correct temp setting. Thanks.

It sounds as though you have frost or ice buld up under the panel in freezer compartment.Remove the 4 screws in freezer and 1 green ground wire.Inside you may see ice or frost buld up.Some causes are-Your drain tube may have a obstruction in it.It is located on center rear of freezer compartment. And if you pull fridge out and remove bottom rear panel you will see a plastic tube going into a drip pan.Pour hot water in the freezer and use hair dryer to defrost till water drians to bottom rear of the fridge. After you defrost the freezer cheak the bimetal defrost thermostat cliped on condensor see if it is balged on top where the wires go into thermostat. If it is you will need a bimetal defrost thermostat for it.If not cheak your defrost timer in can be locted around the temp control in fridge or under kickplate on bootom front of fridge.Advance the timer with a flat head srew driver look close it there will be a hole around light or control panel turn till fridge turns off.the element should turn on >if those @ things do not work you may need a thermostat control If you have electronil controls you may need a new board

Water is dripping from the freezer into the fridge from above. Ice has formed under sliding freezer tray.( Whirlpool 21- Model# ET21DKXDN04 )

Sounds like the water produced from defrost cycle is the problem. There is a tube designed to carry the water to the compressor compartment where it evaporates. you will need to onclog the tube by taking the back off freezer compartment to access .Under the condensor is a tray that collects the water. There you should see the hole that needs to be blown out. Compressed air works great. Hope this helps.

Our 4 year old GE side by side frig suddenly warmed to 64 degrees. Freezer stopped freezing and is at 43. Motor is running.

Really need to know what motor(s) are running (compressor, evap fan inside freezer compartment, condenser fan under fridge)?? Of course, check your temperature (thermostat) settings. Side-by-sides usually have 2 of them. They should be labled for refridgerator and freezer. The freezer control usually only opens a baffle from the freezer compartment to the refridge compartment. The refrigerator temp control is the one that controls the compressor on-off cycles and the temp of refrig compartment (this keeps the refrig compartment from freezing the milk and cokes) If the freezer control/baffle is set too far open, this will cause the refrig temp control to shut off too soon for the freezer temp to get low enough. These controls can get bumped out of the correct setting accidently from time to time.
To check the following, the fridge has to be running, or in a condition where it "should be" running: If compressor is running (condenser fan should be too), check if evaporator fan (inside freezer) is running. Open (freezer) door and hold door light switch in when you check evaporator fan operation (some fans stop when door is open) If it is not running you may have a bad evaporator fan motor. It could also be a bad defrost timer, causing the evaporator (also inside back of freezer) to ice-up. This blocks the air flow over evap. Also, there is a defrost terminator switch on the evaporator coil that stops the defrost cycle when coil is clear of ice/frost (but timer hasn't ended defrost cycle). If it is defective, that could also keep the fridge from going into the defrost cycle, or taking it out too soon. If it is the timer, change the defrost terminator as well. Depending on how handy you are, you may be able to check/change any of these parts yourself. If you don't know much about elecrical stuff, you should leave it to a repair tech. Hope this helps.

Fridge not staying cold

Inside the fresh food compartment there is a defrost timer hidden behind the temp control panel. Sometimes there is a plastic plug over the hole that you need to put a flathead screwdriver in and slowly turn it clockwise. When compressor stops I want you to wait about 25 minutes to see if the refrigerator comes back on by itself without help. If it does I need you to listen inside the freezer compartment for sa sound of crackling or sizzling noise indicating defrost is taking place. Let me know, Sea Breeze

Water under crispers in my fridge

If the freezer is on top then empty out the freezer and remove the bottom and back liner of the freezer compartment usually phillips screws. In the back you will see the freezer coils along with a defrost element. Below these two items u will see a drip tray that collects water from the coils on defrost cycle, in the center of the pan will be a drain hole that connects to a hose that leads to a pan under the refrigerator.Normally the water is collected there and evaporated. The hole in the tray in the freezer is clogged. Thaw it and clean it until you can pour water in it and it goes to the pan down below. please rate me

Hello, Bosch Classixx fridge freezer warms up in fridge compartment, freezer seems OK. Is it just icing up, & I could switch it off for 48 hours? Or what to do? Thanks.

A defrost is more than likely necessary. Shut it off at the control and open the door. Also the little drawer or pan under the freezer compartment sometimes will have a baffle that can be raised or lowered to provide more or less air circulation. For a cooler refrigerator you would open the baffle, and for a warmer refrigerator temperature you would close the baffle for less air and warmer temperature.
