Remove the flex hose from the back of the stove. If there is a small hole in the back of the stove, stick a pencil in there and spin the motor. Try to start the stove. If the motor won't spin at all or if it spins freely and the stove still shows an EE8 you need a new motor.

You or your local dealer can change the motor in 30 minutes.

My Laser 30 went into power saver mode by itself and now I can't get it out of said mode, otherwise it's working well.

Rick,
Sorry to hear you're having issues with your Toyo, first off do you have a manual for your stove? If not, you can download one online, I've included the link for your convenience.

Your Toyo has a series of control buttons across the top and/or the front, the "On/Off" button for the "Power Saver Mode" is located in the middle. You can turn the mode On or Off, though you actually WANT to utilize the Power Saver Mode. It's intended to prevent unnecessary ignitions on the stove, thereby lowering your electrical consumption as well as wear & tear on the stove. All you need to do is set a maximum and a minimum temperature and whenever the temperature is not within the parameters you've established the stove will then either ignite to heat the area to your pre--determined setting or shut off until the temperature is within the parameters you've established. If there is NO error code(s) showing, and the stove is running fine, then I would not be concerned. Though I do suggest you immediately download the manual, read it thoroughly, and when necessary use it to troubleshoot future issues.
I hope this helps you, good luck and stay warm!

When i turn on my monitor it read E-08. What does that mean?

If it's a Toyo stove it means blower motor. It may just need cleaned or might need to be replaced.

I need an exploded view of the toyo 30 heater. Some thing is loose in the fan and it makes a racket when running... I suspect a vole (I live in Alaska) tried to build a nest....

Go to www.toyostove.com . Click on owner's manuals and look for the pdf file for the LR-30. The parts break down is on page 7. Part #40 is the blower motor, part# 41 is the fan, and the cover it shows behind the fan doesn't give a number. You should be able to just remove the screws from the back and open the blower.

Toyo laser 73 error code EE8. What does that mean?

All error codes are explained on the lower left side of the heater. The EE8 message is for the combustion blower motor. If your stove has been unused for the summer you may get away with just spinning the blower wheel by hand to free it up. If this does not work you are in for a new motor or assembly. Either way you need to clean the blower and heat exchanger.

Toyo Stove Laser 30 will not work

The EE-8 indication means there is insufficient air flow to the combustion pot to atomize and ignite the fuel. Check your air switch for a closed condition when the blower is operating.

Toyo 55, igniter gets hardened build-up

Gartyl,

Your Laser 55 burner mat has erroded away. The fuel is pooling someplace in the burner rather than spreading smoothly over the bottom. The stuff on the igniter may be hardened carbon from a poor flame. Bottom line is some burner work. A new mat, ring and cleaning the burner air holes is in order. Don't be surprised if the heat chamber is cracked beyond repair when you get it off. NOW for the bad news. The Laser 55 and 72 are older heaters. You will find just about all the electrical parts are going to be hard to find. They are no longer being made. Your 55 will be able to use the newer 56 blower, mat and burner ring. You will also be able to use the heat element off a 56 as well. If there is a problem with the fuel pump causing your poor flame you will be out of luck.

Good luck,

We just got oil after not using our toyo stove since last Summer. when I turned it on and push the on button it flashes 12:00 then a second push of on button briefly shows temp then goes to EE8, I can't...

Ok so I bought a L 73 model two years ago and today I had fuel delivered in prep for the winter. When I turned the Toyo on it waited about 5 minutes before giving me an EE 08 error message. The manual showed blower motor trouble and I was bummed so I called a friend. He gave me the following information he learned from a Toyo dealer as a "temp" fix until a more thorough cleaning can take place. Apparently stuff (crusties, ash and burnt debris) have a tendency to build up around the blower motor fan which causes it to get stuck. This is not the large visible fan on the back, but the smaller internal one. There is a rubberized hose leading to the larger fan and a smaller flexible stainless exhaust next to it, which is the one I was told to remove. Once you remove the flexible exhaust get a flashlight and look into the back and you'll see the fan (or only about the 1/3 of it which is visible). Take a pencil eraser and gently remove the build up between the exhaust slats. I also used my craftsman shop vac which fit nicely right over the hole to remove the debris. Once you have all the soot, crusties and stuff removed the fan should be spinning at warp speed when you remove the shop vac. This took my literally about 10 minutes to disconnect, clean and reconnect. About 8-10 minutes later the unit was working great! Hope this helps anyone having similar problems.

Toyo stove laser 30

EE22 means that your Toyo failed to ignite 3 times in a row. You need to unplug it for 30 minutes to reset the circuit board. Then plug it back in, push the red reset button on the right hand side in the little hole towards the back and push the Power button. Your Toyo should ignite after that barring some other problem caused by running out of fuel.

I am assuming that you ran out of fuel which caused the EE2 error code originally. Sometimes, when you run out of fuel you can get water, ice, debris in the fuel line causing an obstruction or limited fuel flow. You may also get an air lock. You may need to crack the fuel line at the back of the Toyo where there is 3/4 nut and bleed the line. If you see no fuel or a small quantity of fuel then you will need to thaw and/or purge the fuel line in order to get fuel to your Toyo's fuel pump. There is also a screen in the sump which can get plugged with rust, debris from the bottom of the fuel tank so you may need to clean the screen in order to get fuel to the pump.
