Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

11 Answers

I have a Kodak EasyShare 5300 all in one photo printer. KSN P031022 I was printing pictures and it told me both black and color cartridges needed replacing. New cartridges were installed and all the pictures now have a pinkish purple overcast over the entire print. I removed both cartridges and printer head and unplugged printer. After about three hours, I plugged printer back in and reinstalled cartridges. Then cleaned printer head. This yielded the same result. I ran a Diagnostic Sheet on the printer and it shows Error Code: 3501. I now need assistance on what to try next.

    Your solution corrected the problem.
Now it will not print any color and the black is very dim.

    How do I correct this?

  • larpol Jan 16, 2009

When installing new cartridges, my printer does not have "have you installed new cartridges" on the menu.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the program disc that came with the computer.

It still will not print color at all and the black is dim.

    What do I do now?

When I was checking the print head again, I accidently moved the carriage to one side. I moved it slightly over and over again and eventially got color to print.
However, it is not exactly right on photo prints.
How do I get it back exactly right so the prints are true color?

Clean also the cartridge sensor inside the ink carriage, using alcohol and soft cotton.

If you still get the problem, you may need to replace printhead.

The part may be ordered by calling the Kodak number listed on the owner manual.

As giving the cleaning printout from the pc many a times utilizes/consumes  lots of ink and makes the ink very less and this results in dim printouts.to resolve this just remove the cartridges from the printer give a ****/brisk 5-10 times  to the cartridges and then install.after installing print some 2-3 documenmts in best mode it will consume some ink but then adjust it to normal mode and continue till the end it will print properly.

When you install new cartridges, it should ask you if you have installed new cartridges, chose yes, then it will print an alliment page, which you put into the scanner..to correct alliment issues with your new cartridges,or you need to uninstall and reinstall the software ( disk) that that came with your printer. Hope this fixed ya!

Error code 3501 is cover open error message To resolve this error condition, close the access door. The printer will not operate while the door is open.If the error message continues then you may need to replace the cover switch .This is the problem the cover switch in the printer you need to replace the switch this switch is very difficult to find in the printer is usually hidden ,you need to check the cover there will be a projection in the cover which will go into a slot thats where the switch is located before try the power off it 30 min and power it and check it works ..

Good luck...

    # Hold the cartridge upside down, with the bar-code label facing you and take a damp paper towel.
    # Use the towel to wipe the printhead of the cartridge on the bottom (where the ink comes out). Wipe the printhead horizontally in one direction only (left to right).
    # Continue doing this until it looks clean.
    # Then dab the cartridge on the towel to make sure the ink is flowing.
    # Next, look inside the printer and locate the carrier that holds ink cartridges. Caution: Make sure the cartridges are not installed at this point.

    1. Look for a shiny piece of metal underneath the contacts at the back of the carrier.
    2. Take a damp cotton swab (use water only!) and wipe along the bottom of the shiny metal piece. Note: You may need more than one swab.

    # Reinstall the cartridges, making sure you snap them correctly into the printer.

How to clean ink absorber for canon mp237

First of all open the ink cartridge of your printer.
When the ink cartridge would move all the way over, then disconnect the power cord of your printer.
Now pull the frame of rubber from the printer and remove ink pads.
To clean ink pads you may place them in a bowl having warm water and start rubbing and squeezing them to clean it from ink.
After removal of ink, keep the pads separate for dry.
When the pads get dry completely, place them back in rubber frame.
Reinstall the rubber frame in your printer.

Laser printer makes light clicking noise when idle

When idle is potentially the fuser unit, after heating and cooling. However the print quality issue associated with the clicking sound could indicate an electrical issue. The HVPS maybe faulty causing the print quality issue (due to dependant parts) and the electrical click. In any case I would recommend calling Brother and finding the nearest authorised service agent.
