Question about Intel Motherboard
Dont know what i need to use a new sata hard drive with an old msi 4xp ultra3 motherboard. it presently has the old style hard drive
If your motherboard does not support SATA, then you will need a SATA controller like this:
This will require an empty PCI slot.

Look for a sata connector on your main board that looks like this:
If your main board does not have one of these connector then you do not support SATA. If it does make sure you connect the drive in SATA0 or SATA1 what ever is the lowest. Also SATA does not require any jumper configuration.
