It took me a while, but I was finally able to get the FULL service manual that covers these models:

NN-S252BF
NN-S252WF
NN-S262BF
NN-S262SF
NN-S262WF

The wiring of the door interlock switches is shown on page 10.

The best place to order parts for this brand is Encompass (formerly Tritronics). Or you can call them toll-free at 866-779-5835.

If a switch is all you need, we offer a universal type for only $5 postpaid which you can order here.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Hello, I would love the same for Panasonic NN-T664SFX. The power goes out periodically when I open and close the door. I have opened it and tried to tighten any loose connections. That helped a little but the problem still persists. I'm guessing this is the door switch? I also cannot find a parts list with parts numbers. Is there a link for that?

Kenmore built in microwave - f9 error

F9 is indeed a door switch error.

I would suspect that if the switches are good, a couple of wires may be reversed on them, or maybe one of the door switch mounts is broken.

There may be a wiring diagram in the oven, either pasted to the cover, or folded and stored behind the control panel.

If you can supply the actual model number (not 636xx, etc.) I can try to find a wiring diagram.

Door switch has 2 wires.1black 1yellow. both disconnected. which goes where?

Hello Russell;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.

Behind your control board you have 3 door contact switches. The top one is, "Normal" (Close operation), The middle one is, "Intermediate" (Closed operational), and the bottom switch is, "Door closed".

Usually it make no difference if the wires are the same color. You need to do a trial and error. Connect the wires to the door switch. If the microwave does not work reverse them. You will not damage the microwave.

Go into the following website, put in your model number located on a label on your microwave and you will get diagrams, and perhaps a wiring diagram. Water Filters Lawn Garden Appliance Parts

How do you replace the door switch for the door in the microwave oven?

Take the cover off, the switches should be pretty easy to replace. In the several I've done, they just snap out, unplug, and then snap back in.

That is most likely a failed door switch or its mount may be loose, misaligned or broken.
It's most often caused by opening the door while it's cooking instead of hitting "Stop" first, or slamming the door.
It would either be the top or bottom switch, whichever one has the thicker wires, probably black wires.
(Sorry, but I don't have the wiring diagram on this model and the door sense switch [not a suspect] will have thinner, more colorful wires).
See these help files first:

Then my help file on door switches:

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number (JES145BJ02) here.

Emerson Microwave

i would presume you know hot to use a VOM too, check the resistance of the wire as you close the door, if it would be too small, then you can test the wiring.

it could have been that the door switches was wired incorrect and once you close the door, the two lines are shorting out.

another odd thing you said is that it turn on with the door open.
that should not be the case because of microwave energy leaking out thru the door.
this door has the safety switch where in it would not or stop running once you accidentally open the door.

if you can trace the diagram which is usually pasted at the inner wall of the cover.

tnx 4 using fixya,

Light Not working

The following is generic to most microwave ovens for the light:

Inside all microwave ovens there are sensor and safety switches that work with the door. There are also some electronics on the controler board or a daughter board that control the light. The fault would most likely be in those areas. Some models have a door switch that is specificaly for the light.

The service tech would start by testing all the sensor and safety switches. If these, the wireing, and the connectors are all okay, he would then verify the operation of the circuits for the light.

No power from Whirlpool.

IF YOU HAVE THE MICRWAVE PLUGGED IN AND THE CIRCUIT BREAKER TRIPS IMMEDIATELY WHEN SET,
CHECK THE DOOR HOOKS THAT TRIP THE DOOR SWITCHES. BOTH SHOULD BE SPRING LOADED. THERE SHOULD BE TWO HOOKS ON THE DOOR. IF O.K., CHECK THE DOOR SWITCHES. THERE ARE AT LEAST THREE. IF ONE OF THEM IS SHORTED CLOSED,
THE MONITOR SWITCH WILL CAUSE A DEAD SHORT ACROSS THE FUSE. THE FUSE MAY BE HOLDING BETTER THAN YOUR CIRCUIT BREAKER.
