Question about HP PAVILION A6230N DESKTOP PC

I inserted my memory card from camera but nothing happened.

There are 2 slots - does it matter which one. We have Vista.
I only inserted it in the top and waited for something to show up on my monitor.

If the memory card is not recognize on the top slot its really better to try to put it on the other slot and hopefully it will be detected but if still not detected restart the computer while the memory is connected to the slot so it wil be detected after that...

Does your phone have usb. It may be easier to pull the images via usb. Put the card back into your camera and plug a usb to usb2 cable that comes with the camera into your computer and it should come up without a problem

How to Re-seat the video card and memory

Step 1:

To re-set the memory or rams.
12_28_2012_3_32_17_am.jpg
notice the Notch ?? this lines up with the notch of the ram socket on the main board
12_28_2012_3_36_36_am.jpg

Step 2:

The highlighted slots which are Blue and black are the ram slots (ON THIS BOARD color may vary on yours but the shape and size is the same) Pull the clips apart, insert the Rams lining up the notches correctly (slots are labled Dimm1 Dimm 2 etc) start from one , th order doesnt matter and any slot will do but its good practice.. Firmly push the rams down into the slot and the clips will slide back in place and lock the rams in place.

Step 3:

FOR THE GRAPHICS CARD

notice the long single slot ?

it also has a notch on it the same as the graphics card,

line up the notches and push the graphics card in place, it will clip in,, Screw back in the back plate..

Step 4:

Thats it your done.

When I plug in my compactflash memory card into the slot thing on my tower nothing happens. how do I get it to work?

You probably have multiple slots. and some memory cards will fit into other slots. usually the card type is listed under each slot. make sure you have it in the right one first. also there is usually a light that will change colors when it detects a card inserted. then windows should take care of the rest.

I have a Dell Dimension E521. I inserted a SD memory card into the SD card slot and nothing happens. The slot is not showing up under My Computer. I'm trying to transfer pictures from my computer to the SD...

check the device manager if it is showing there ? if with an error then u need drivers .. if it does not show up there then there is a problem with the memory card reader ..

Was inserting a camera memory card into Right slot but it appears to have been swallowed by the PC and not connecting as it should

Most likely you inserted a MicroSD or similar memory card into your card reader. The problem is that the card reader was designed for MiniSD or MMC (for example) memory cards, which are bigger. In order to read a MicroSD card you will first need to put it in an adapter from MicroSD to MiniSD. In order to remove it from the slot, power down your machine and shake it a couple of times with the slot facing down. If it doesn't get out, try to manually remove it using something similar to a blade.

I want to download my pictures from my sanyo 770 digial to my p.c

2 Options:

1. Your camera probably came with a USB cable. If so you need to connect that cable from your camera to your PC and turn on the camera. Your computer should automatically recognize that you've plugged it in and should run a "wizard" that will walk you through importing those photos.

2. Your PC may have a "multi-card reader" this is a series of slots that accept different sizes/types of memory cards from cameras etc. Your camera has a memory card that you can remove and place into one of these slots. Again once you've plugged in this memory card you should again get the wizard asking you'd like to do.

Computer keeps saying insert disk into CompactFlash (F:)

I suppose if memory card is inserted your computer restarts, this usually happens if there is short in the memory card slot.
