I think the system needs a better graphic driver but it appears the last updated driver is dated 2002. In the middle of using the machine for about an hour the unit "clicks" and a few seconds later the last few mouse motions appear like a jet stream across the screen, then the screen all turns gray, green, white, and black and it's finished. I have to turn the unit off and then back on again. It works great aside from this problem.

try to check the connection of your coax/antenna at the back of your plasma tv. if it presist some of the components inside were damage maybe burnt for excessive use. Try to contact a certified repair man for that issue.

Same problem here. Does anybody have an answer?
SOURCE: Slow start
(I'm copying a guest's comment above. What Gateway told him does seem to work - although in my case, the monitor was slow to start when plugged directly into the wall, and it was immediately fixed when I plugged it back into a heavy duty power bar.)
hey, I had the same problem. Gateway told me "Plug the monitor power plug directly into a wall electrical outlet
or
a different wall outlet by removing any surge suppressors." I did that
and it works. It might be a certain kind of power bar they do not like.
It worked for me so try that and see if that helps.
SOURCE: Gateway profile all in one system shuts itself off
I just had a machine in the other day with the exact problem you describe. Don't know if this will help but they had a worm and when the anti-virus kicked in or they opened any type of online program like a broswer or email the computer would shut down.
Also hardware could be the issue. If its not the above issue could you tell us when the last time the heatsink was cleaned. What if anything your doing when it shuts down....

Sounds like a bad solder joint on the printed circuit board. Once it heats up then it no longer makes good contact and the monitor goes black until it cools down and makes contact again. You could resolder it if you knew where it was but monitors are dangerous to go playing around with as they can hold very high charges of electricity in their capacitors that are very dangerous. It's a throw away world. Go buy a new one.
