Try just hitting Num Lock.

Hold Fn and hit Num Lock.

Hold Fn and hit the blue "lock icon" on the keyboard.

Either of these should solve your problem.

Uninstalling and reinstalling the driver for my keyboard got the issue fixed. I got the tip from fixya.com.. all i did was to go to device and uninstall the keyboard driver from there and restarted my laptop. when my laptop has restarted, it did detect a new device which was my built -in keyboard and it asked to restart my system and boom when it had booted up.. booom! my issue got fixed. I got away with some keys not typing in.. it was a big help!! thank you so much!

I could be wrong but it sounds like your keyboard layout is set to swype instead of qwerty. On the bottom left of the keyboard is the setting option.

I have a laptop Inspiron dell 1525 and the letters b and n does not work. So I cannot type my password. Can you please help.

While on the log on screen, in the lower left corner, there should be a blue square with a circle in it. Click that and enable the "Type without the keyboard" an on screen keyboard will appear, and click the letters on that for your password

How do you "print screen"?

I don't think that this keyboard has that key built in.
Have a look at Gadwin PrintScreen for capturing screens or active windows (and other features). The default hot key for this program is "print screen" but can be redefined.
You could also use the on screen keyboard.
Windows XP comes with a built in on screen keyboard. Basically a graphic of a keyboard comes up and acts like your keyboard, you can use your mouse to hunt and peck around. What uses does this have and what did I use it for? Well, it's good for people with disabilities, where it would be easier to use a mouse than trying to type or it's great to use when your keyboard goes loco on you. Yes, we've all had our keyboard go nuts. Here is how you launch it:
- Click "Start" button - Click on "RUN" - Enter\type "OSK" (without quotes)
The keyboard comes on
You can also create a shortcut to the "On-Screen Keyboard", because if your keyboard should go out on you, it would be handy to have it. All you do to create the shortcut is to:
- Right click on the desktop - Click the new shortcut button - Enter\type OSK, click next twice, and there you have it.

How to use.I am first time user. I need to know the functions of each key when writeing letters and moving lines up and down. ie Basic instruction.

Hi, trying doing this at first; where the Start Button is "its a (4) color button on the Desktop, all the way to the left, click on it to open. Next, in the "window that read," [Start Search], type the word: keybaord, now look to find the "On Screen Keyboard," and click on it to open the (On-Screen Keyboard). "Now what you can do is type without typing, while learning what each "Key" on the Keybaord do. If you need more help? Look near the top of the On-Screen Keyboard, and click on the Help Menu. I hope this will help you out. There is one more thing I'm going to put a web-site for you to go to that you can use to help more with your typing,; all you have to do is click on the site: http://www.sense-lang.org/typing/ "If this was helpful to you, let me know by rating the help with the "thumbs up, thanks and Good Typing!"

Locked keyboard buttons

If the wrong characters appear when you are typing or you are trying to use a keyboard that is different than the one that came with the computer, use the following steps to synchronize Windows to the type of keyboard you have:
  1. Click Start c01311982.gif , and type region into the Start Search field.
  2. Select the Keyboards and Languages tab.
  3. Click Change Keyboards .
A Text Services and Input Languages window opens.

  4. Click Add .

  5. Select the keyboard(s) you want to use and click OK .
Figure 5: Add input language: US Dvorak keyboard selected.

The new keyboard is added to the list of available keyboards and a keyboard icon appears on the system tray, allowing you to switch between the keyboard that you want to use with the mouse.

  6. From the Text Services and Input Languages window, select the new keyboard in the list and click Move up until it is first in the list. This makes it the default keyboard.

  7. Click OK . You can now use the new keyboard. If you find that the new keyboard works well and you do not want to use the other keyboard, repeat these steps and Remove the keyboard that you do not want from the General tab of the Text Services and Input Languages window.

My keyboard is n't typing? I have a laptop.

reinstall the driver ..and check the plugs for proper insert ...if there was a problem and you started the pc ..and do not sow the device ...( problem like unpluging ..or out of batteries..) it is the chance that you need to go to the device manager ..and update the driver ...( from the disc ) or automatically cause the driver is still installed into the pc ...
