Microstar is MSI www.msi.com/ They manufacture the Motherboards for companies like Acer. The MSI website has a download function that should identify your motherboard and install the latest drivers. Depending on the age of the board you could use the chipset or socket information to narrow down your search.

Please, may you tell to me what is ACER ASPIRE M1641 motherboard name ?

Re: Sata driver - ACER M1641 desktop PC « Reply #8 on: March 28, 2009, 04:26:23 PM » I have discovered the previously unknown model of the motherboard in this system. I have searched and searched and could not find it anywhere. With the actual model of the motherboard you can get supported drivers right from the manufacturer, the same way you could if you purchased a standard motherboard like asus or gigabyte.

I have determined this motherboard (at least my acer a1641-e1712a) is a MICROSTAR board. A link to a board with compatable drivers can be found http://www.msi.com/index.php?func=proddesc&prod_no=1499&maincat_no=1&cat2_no=170&cat3_no=2 .

The board is a MSI board using their mainboard search. My criteria went as follows...

Mainboard -> Intel Platform -> Socket 775 Chip -> Nvidia Chipset -> Nvidia MCP73 Chipset

That narrows your down to 8 or so mainboards, all of which use the same sata, audio and onboard video. My above link http://www.msi.com/index.php?func=proddesc&prod_no=1499&maincat_no=1&cat2_no=170&cat3_no=2 will take you to a board where you can get SATA, AUDIO and VIDEO DRIVERS.

Hope this helps guys!

Motherboard manufact, and no. listed over it

Usually there are product numbers silkscreened onto the motherboard, or on a sticker on one of the slots. these numbers can be instrumental on finding the manufacturer / model of your motherboard.

As you can see in Figure 1, the motherboard is clearly an Asus P7P55-Pro Motherboard. Searching asus website, or google for Asus P7P55 pro will turn up lots of information on this board.

Older boards can be more difficult to identify, but there are usually part numbers, and board revision numbers printed on them, or a sticker on them to help the technician's identify the board.

Re microstar board p4m266

Hi Andy. Sorry I disappeared, it was way past my bedtime.

Your board will support 2gb of DDR266/PC3200 memory, although there are other considerations if you're using very high performance modules.

The board is still fully supported by MSI and you can find further information at the following address:

http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p_spec.asp?model=P4MAM-L

If you click on the download centre link on the left of that page you'll find drivers and updated BIOS if you need them.

Hope this helps,

erch.
