XBOX 360 working but no display

My xbox 360 appears to be working, as i can hear it, but there is no display on my TV. I originally thought it might be the AV lead, but after buying a new lead and connecting it to different outputs, had the same problem.

There might be something wrong with the port in the back of the xbox 360 that gives out the video signals to the cord that leads to the tv where it is supposed to be displayed. You need to get that checked and and if that is the problem, you need to get it repaired also.

Unplug completely the consol from power and let it rest for fifteen or twenty minutes.

If it still has no video, then it is a fault with the video chipset inside the consol.

Call Microsoft at the number listed on the user manual, and tell them that you did not cause the fault, they offer free replacement for factory faults like this.

“Xbox 360 offers unprecedented support for high-definition gaming, yet
it remains flexible as well. Whether using a standard definition TV
(480i), an HDTV with only one progressive scan option, or an HDTV with
every available option (up to 720p and 1080i), the Xbox 360 employs the
best resolution your TV can display”

When we experience a no video/display but with sound as if your logging in at your default blade, try to disconnect all the cables including the power cord and the audio video cable. (its the cable going from your console or xbox 360 to your tv). Before you plug it back try also to wipe the prongs or the metal part of the cables to ensure it has no debris or anything that would mess up the connection. If your using an HDTV make sure that the switch of your component cable is click on the hdtv settings. if it still not working for you, try to use a different cable and TV just to isolate the problem. If the issue still persist.. its the system that has a problem. Not exactly the hardware but it would definitely the prongs at the back of the console. So, bring it back to the retailer if its still in 30-days warranty or send for repair to its authorized service center.

attached. Wrap your xbox in three towels and switch it on for about
20mins (which i did). Switch it off (it may already have switched
itself off ! leave it to cool for about 15 mins and then plug
everything back in . I was amazed to find my sons xbox up and running
agian. Hope it works for you !! It did for me and i still can't belive

Try jiggling/ twisting around the yellow av cord lead. I have the same problem with mine but you just need to spin the yellow av lead around untill you get a picture. If you still cannot see the xbox screen then i recomend you try on another T.V as it might be the av imput is not working. =]

Picture will not show

You might want to try the following:

1. make sure that the AV cable is not loose or incorrectly seated in both the Xbox 360 console and the TV
2. make sure that you have the correct AV cable for your TV, to verify that the AV cable is connected correctly to the Xbox 360 console and to the TV, disconnect the AV cable and then reconnect the AV cable to both devices
3. if you are using composite cables, do not try to set any HDTV settings because you may lose the picture
4. make sure that your TV is set to the same video broadcast system as your Xbox 360 console (PAL or NTSC)
Example:
- if your Xbox 360 console is an NTSC console, make sure that your TV supports NTSC
- if your Xbox 360 console is a PAL console, set your PAL settings to PAL 60
- if your TV has a type of picture compensation enabled, disable it
5. reset your Xbox 360 console
- Remove any discs from the disc tray
- Turn off the console
- Turn on the console
- As the console starts, press and hold the Y button, and then pull the right trigger at the same time
- The Xbox Dashboard resets the display settings to the default settings and then automatically restarts the console.
6. Do not take your Xbox 360 console or its accessories to your retailer for repair or for service unless an Xbox Customer Support representative asks you to do this

Xbox 360 Console, Faulty, NO DISPLAY!!??

What do you mean, no display? Is is game-related display issues? Have you checked the AV cable connection? Or is it about the settings? Is this the first time that you are going to connect your xbox console?

To determine whether the display issues are specific to a particular game, try playing a different game to see whether the same symptom occurs. Reminder, some Xbox original games that were released for the original Xbox console may show some display issues when you play them on the Xbox 360 console.

Next, make sure that AV cable is connected correctly to the Xbox 360 console and to the TV. To verify that the AV cable is connected correctly to the Xbox 360 console and to the TV, you can disconnect the AV cable and then reconnect the AV cable to both devices. Note: If you are using composite cables, do not try to set any HDTV settings. If you try to set HDTV settings, you may lose the picture.

You might also want to check your TV's settings because some display issues can be caused by how the TV is set up. To make sure that this is not the case, please check your TV's settings.

In your TV's settings, you should check the following:
- Make sure that your TV is set to the same video broadcast system as your Xbox 360 console (PAL or NTSC)
- If your Xbox 360 console is a PAL console, set your PAL settings to PAL 60
- If your TV has a type of picture compensation enabled, disable it
- If your TV's settings are correct, you may want to try using a different TV, if you have one available. Try connecting your Xbox 360 console to another TV to see whether the same display issues occur

Next, reset your Xbox 360 console. To reset the display settings to the default settings, follow these steps:
1. Remove any discs from the disc tray.
2. Turn off the console.
3. Turn on the console.
4. As the console starts, press and hold the Y button, and then pull the right trigger at the same time.

A/v cable

Hi,
Sorry to dissapoint you, but they are completely different at the console end. both the same to T/V. either 3 x Phono ( red-white-yellow ) Or 21 Pin Scart.
Don,t buy the 360 lead, it won,t fit.
Whats ironic, is that most of the Original x-boxes were assembled in the Philipines.
Try e-bay, if you can,t get 1.
i,ll ship you one from the U/K.
