Question about Sharper Image Wireless Outdoor Monophonic One-Speaker System MP3 Player

Open Question

Transmitter for wireless speakers died

I have a set of Sharper Image Wireless speakers, and today the transmitter stopped sending a signal. The power light is on but the signal light is completely dead.  First the speakers got quieter and quieter and then the signal just dropped.  Is there a way to fix the transmitter, or is there a generic replacement part?  Sharper Image went bankrupt so I can't get a part from them.  My transmitter died for my outdoor wireless speakers.  Where can I get a replacement since Sharper Image is bankrupt.

I have the shift 3 wireless speakers and the first time I tried them they don't work? All I get is a hum. I can hook up the line in source and the speakers work fine so it's obviously the transmitter or receiver on the speaker end (lights are on on both). Any suggestions?

I took the PCB below the power button off and removed the little metal triangles under the tape. I then cleaned the contacts (I just used a screwdriver but a more careful person might use a brush or something) and replaced the metal triangles under the tape (make sure it's concave down), and then replaced the PCB.

This fixed the problem for me. In general, look for corroded contacts.

There isn't one. The reason why Sharper Image went out of business is because the Ionic Breeze was proven to be ineffective product and harmful to use in some cases based on Consumer Reports data as well as data from the EPA. They sued Consumer Reports, lost the case, and had to pay all the legal bills.

The Consumer Products Safety Commission is going to making decision on all ionizers by the end of the year. It's quite possible that no one will be selling them anymore.

There is thread I left in the Ionic Breeze section about the EPA data on ionizers and the harmful effects of using them as well as a link about what happen to Sharper Image.

This product should have been regulated a long time ago. Orek and few others are going to be pulling the plug on them real soon.

SOURCE: I have a sharper image

there are two gears that run the changer one on the motor and one on the cartridge. Either one of the gears stripped out, or they got separated. You can do one of two things, if your mechanically inclined you can take it apart and check the gears, or you can take it in and have it fixed.

Unfortunately, there are no repair depots that are available for use since Sharp Image has claimed bankruptcy. these product are very unique in design and, the actual repair parts are no longer in stock. the suppliers went under when Sharp filed for bankruptcy.

You may be able to repair the wiring by ordering the identical gauge from you local electrician but, that's about it. most of the hardware is no longer available.

Sharper image indoor/outdoor wireless speakers and transmitter has no audio.

First, determine if the TV device is putting out sound by plugging in a headphone into the audio out of the TV. If audio is there then the
transmitter and wireless speakers system may be at fault.
You can also plug in a CD player playing a disc into the transmitter to see if that source then transmits the audio.

You do not need an amplified signal. The signal is amplified in the head set. You may need to change the audio settings on the TV change from internal speakers to external amp and/or change from variable to fixed audio out.
