The"On" button is stuck

Please, need information or address so I can have my camera repaired. I paid $229.99 for the camera, a year ago too! Do they just last a year? What will it cost to repair it? What a drag, it takes beautiful pictures! " I need to get it fixed!"

Re: The"On" button is stuck

Contact the Sony Technical Support team. If it is only just out of warranty there may be a low cost replacement scheme. But repair - a no no with these things.

Code error 00-00-00 30-00-28

If the lens got stuck, you have a problem. It can be caused by many things. A broken sprocket, a broken gear, just a little dent in the lens barrel, dried out grease and many other things. Even a defective motor or just a bad contact or a broken connection can be the cause. Non of them can be repaired by yourself. Sometimes, tapping the camera on the palm of your hand, could solve the problem (temporarily), but don't bump it to hard, or you could damage it beyond repair. Tap it with the lens barrel down ward, asif you want to tap it out. But only in a few occasions it really would work. If the battery has enough power, to switch the camera on, pulling it through a setup and displaying the error message, the battery should not be the cause. Getting out the battery and replacing it after a few moments, could reset the error, so i tries again to switch on normal. But if the error keeps coming back, I think it is wise to start saving for a new camera. Most camera's on the market now, perform better and will cost a fraction of what you paid a couple of years ago.

I have a kodak easyshare c182 camera. i dropped it and now it says lens error 122 then shuts right back off.. the lens wont go back in.. its stuck.. please help!!!! i just bought it 4wks ago and lost the...

OK, I would try to get the receipt information from the retailer and try to exchange for another.

If this proves futile, the camera will have to be serviced or replaced. says that they are not responsible for cameras that have been dropped, but if you contact them, they may have a solution for you.

Try the above troubleshooting and repair link to get service that must be paid for since it was dropped or exposed to liquid for evaluation.

Thank you for using FixYa for your problem

It should be taken to an authorized repair centre for a repair estimate. Very few digital cameras have any user-serviceable parts.

Hi Sunil. The problem with your Canon A95 is quite common on cameras of 4 or 5 years ago. The repair is quite expensive, as the main imaging chip (CCD) has absorbed some moisture over time. There is more in-depth information here:

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX9PP Digital Camera Display not working

It seems that the only repair option unless I try to take it apart myself was to send it off to Panasonic for a flat rate of $161.50. So I went to "Plan B" ..... I went on eBay, found the exact same camera last night that had an auction that was ending in a few hours. I bid on it & & won it for $61. So I get memory cards, extra charger, battery & cables & move on. If, down the road, I can find a Panasonic recall similar to Canon's then I'll bring the old one back to life.

Name Address City State Zip Phone .

Panasonic has centralized its repair experts for quality control and efficiency. If you need operating assistance, please call 1-800-211-PANA. If you are sure your product is in need of repair, please ship it to us at the address above.

If your camera model begins with PV ----- If the unit is over the 90 day warranty period but within the 1 year parts warranty period, the flat rate repair charge is $161.50 (Return Shipping Included). If unit was purchased over 1 year ago, the flat rate repair charge is $261.50 (Return Shipping Included). Please include a check or a credit card number to eliminate any delays in processing your repair.

If your camera model begins with DMC ----- If unit was purchased over 1 year ago, the flat rate repair charge is $161.50 (Return Shipping Included). Please include a check or a credit card number to eliminate any delays in processing your repair.

Failures resulting from misuse, moisture damage, impact damage or other physical damage do not qualify for flat rate repair. In these cases, a separate repair estimate will be prepared for your approval.

Nikon Coolpix 5700 Digital Camera Problem

I believe this is the issue that Nikon is repairing at their expense. You can find the advisory on the Nikon website. Here is some of the text from that advisory:

It has come to our attention that in a limited number of COOLPIX 3100, 3500, 4500, 5000, 5400, 5700 and SQ digital cameras, an electronic component may, in some instances, fail affecting your camera's performance and/or operability.

While only a limited number of COOLPIX 3100, 3500, 4500, 5000, 5400, 5700 and SQ digital cameras are affected by this advisory, if your camera presents symptoms that can include (1) images with a strong color tint, (2) images that are totally black and/or (3) images with visible defects, Nikon will, upon confirmation that the problem is associated to this Service Advisory, service your camera free of charge.

To obtain complimentary service for cameras affected by this advisory, please click the link below to download and print the Service Return Form. The Service Return Form provides detailed return instructions.

The Frequently Asked Questions button at the bottom of this page offers more information about this advisory and, should you have more questions, also provides information about how to contact Nikon.

We apologize for any inconvenience you may experience.

BTW, I sent my E5700 to Nikon a couple of years ago -- for this same problem. They repaired and cleaned my camera -- and had it back in my hands within 7 days.

I hope this helps!

Nikon Coolpix L6 Camera

Hey Chamber Girl,
One common cause of this is that something is stuck in the lens obstructing its movement (i.e. sand), and you could try blowing compressed air into the side of the lens to try and dislodge what ever is stuck. You could also try putting the camera on a flat surface with the lens pointed up and holding down the shutter button, and while doing this press the power button. If this doesn't work I would have it looked at by an authorized service technician, but I will say digital camera repairs often exceed the value of the camera. I hope this helps!
