Can you check the near the swiches? this is located on the top of the door, you may have to remove the inside plastic covering. The switches get durty from steamed debre, or may have a connector pulled apart from the door being opened, and closed many times. Turn the power off, and take a look see behind the switch panel.

Run a service test for kitchenaid dishwasher

Did you check behind the toe-kick panel for the tech data sheet? Assuming that you have checked and that it is missing, there here is the "secret keystrokes" that will make most Whirlpool/ KitchenAid/Kenmore/Maytag diswashers enter the diagnostic cycle:
Heated Dry - Normal - Heated Dry - Normal; or
High Temp - Air Dry - High Temp - Air Dry; or
Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry, Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry; or
High Temp Wash, Heated Dry, High Temp Wash, Heated Dry.

Note: On some of the newer Whirlpool, Kenmore, KitchenAid dishwashers, you start the diagnostic cycle by rapidly pressing the 3 left-most keys in the following sequence: 1 2 3, 1 2 3, 1 2 3.

Locked on heat dry setting

Could the model number actually be KUDE70CVSS2? All of the Kitchenaid dishwashers listed on their site have 4 letters between the numbers.

If this is the right model, then the Heat Dry/Lock is probably indicating the Control Lock is active. Hold the Heat Dry button for at least 4 seconds. The Control Lock which prevents anyone from changing or starting the dishwasher by accident; press and hold for 4+ seconds to toggle it on and off. You can find the manual for most Kitchenaid appliances through their support site: https://www.kitchenaid.com/customer-service/manuals/ . The direct link to the owner's manual for the KUDE70CVSS2 is https://www.kitchenaid.com/digitalassets/MLPDF/User%20Instructions%20-%20W10208709.pdf . The use of the Control Lock feature is on page 5 of the manual.

I hope this helps.

KUDIO1ILBS2 KitchenAid Dishwasher, two years old, not heavy usage: control panel is dead, no other power problems in the apartment, the apartment's electical box shows all breakers ok.

These dishwasher have a thermal fuse near the contol panel protecting the heat sensitive computer. Do you use the Sanitize or Anti-bacteria cycles?? If so then these cycles get very hot and could have made the fuse blow. Kitchenaid also had some loose connection problems at the fuse making the fuse heat up due to the electicity and not actual temperature. The new fuse comes as a kit with connectors already attached to the fuse (dont mess with them) and a junction block to splice the wires.
