We put in Finding Nemo for gamecube and the same thing happened to us. After the wavy first screens with instructions on how to create a save data file on the memory card, the screen shows a big circle and 'loading game' and then the exact error message blackitten received.
We don't have a manual and tried to download it but the file is corrupted or otherwise unreadable when adobe attempts to open it.

It sounds like the error you would get if you put in a Mini-DVD of something that isn't a GameCube disc... it sounds like you may need to send the machine to Nintendo to check for you... alternatively, you could buy a GameCube ScrewDriver + ScrewBit (http://www.mod-chip.com) and open the machine up... have a look at this google video: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=287148722109597025 on how to dismantle a GameCube... you should just try take the top half off, and then put it back on.. it SHOULD fix it, if nothing has burned or anything.. I just have no idea how it could have happened...

  • An Error has occurred:
If you are getting the specific message, "An error has occurred. Turn the Power Off and check the Nintendo GameCube Instruction Booklet for further instructions." This means there may be an internal problem with the system.
    1. Check Individual Game Disc problems or Multiple Game Disc problems (depending upon how many games exhibit the problem) to see if the cause of the message is a dirty or damaged disc.
    2. If the disc appears fine or works properly in another system, this means there is an internal problem with the system. A repair will need to be set up. Please use our convenient repair options.

Nintendo game cube says an error has occurred, said to turn it off and check the instruction booklet

Is it the game or the game cube that is doing that. If it is the game then it is probably scratched. Try using toothpaste to clean. If it is the game cube that is broken then open it up and see if anything looks broken
