WHEN I PLAY MUSIC NO SOUND

I believe most motherboards need those RealTek or AC drivers of some sort before they will play sound. Did you install software that came with the motherboard or PC that involve sound drivers?

Also, go in to Control Panel, System, Device Manager, and Click the + next to "Sound, video and game controllers". Is there anything listed under there? If not, or if there is a red X, you need to install the internal sound card drivers off a CD or find them online at the manufacturer's website, making sure you download and install the ones for your model motherboard.

No sound

Hello hassahabi, what I think happened to your sound is this. When the apple iTunes software installed you allowed iTunes to take over all your sound files within the system. To gain back your system sounds try this: Open windows Explorer & left click once on C:\
Once high-lighted, left click on Tools & left click the tab " File Types ". Scroll down the list to, WAV.
Left click once on WAV - wav sound. The sound file should open with Windows Media Player & not to ipod or iTunes. Click the, "Change" button. The "Open With", window will open. Find, Windows Media Player in the list. Left click once on it & than click OK. Most of windows sounds are located in the C:\Windows\Media folder. I suggest you also set MID to open with Windows Media Player.
Once finished close all opened windows & restart your system.
When windows finishes loading open the sound icon by first double left clicking the sound icon. Check that the wave slide bar is all the way up! Close that window. Now right click once on the sound icon & left click "Adjust Audio Properties". Sounds and Audio Devices Properties window will open.
See if the play button is no longer grayed out.
If it is grayed out you'll have no choice but to uninstall the apple software to free your system sounds.
Next round of ipod iTunes installation watch your screen's & choose not to allow iTunes to control, *.wav sound files.

Good luck hassahabi!

" uunnu" What kind of "comp" do you have ? What kind of o/s[operating system- Windows XP, ME, 98] Was there sound before "someone" did something to it ?Do u have the speakers plugged into the right port [the sound card or the connections in back of the computer that are labeled "sound" or "audio" ? goto the "control panel"\sound icon(picture of speaker) and u will see a menu of things that windows will make a sound if u press the arrow facing right (to play the sound) Touch a action, for an example [windows_exit] and the arrow should turn dark, press the darkened arrow and play that sound. If the arrow does not get dark, u have not installed the program that makes the sound work. Please send me more information, I am trying to grab at spider web strings.......in pitch black night..

Click the + sign at Audio
Download the latest Realtek for your operating system. Creat & save in a folder on your hard drive/desktop. Open the folder where you downloaded the zip file & uncompress the .zip file. Re-start you system.
After windows finishes loading go back to opening System. Click the hardware tab again & click deveice manager. Scroll down to Sound, audio and game controller. Click the + sign. Find the yellow ! or a red X. Right click on it & choose install/update driver.
Click brows to the loacation of the driver & point it to the uncompressed folder where you downloaded the sound drivers. When finished close all opened windows & re-start the system. If you get the error message again or your sound does not play than your intergrated sound controller chip is defective.
