i think set going to stanby because of faulty output tansistor or ic.

is the power amp IC or TRANSISTOR driven?

Power shut down due to protection circuit activated 3 times

I had the exact problem with the same model. The way to reset it to the factory default is quite easy (you will lose all previous settings). first , Make sure that it is plugged. Then press on the "info" and the "tone control" at the same time. Keep pressing for a few seconds. you will hear a "clicking" sound and the receiver will turn on.

When i turn it on, the light dims in the room, and if i hold down the power button, after a few seconds there is an audible click from inside.

The click is the power safe relay opening to shut of power to the pcb before it blows up. As is the lights dimming its crossing power there is a bad short in the amps pcb it needs a tech to look at it 10_3_2013_2_18_35_am.png

It shuts off afer 5 seconds when powered on.

Does the unit output sound when powered on? If no sound can be heard, and you only hear a click after 5 sec. then your power circuit may have a faulty diode.

Wont Power On..

I had the same problem. It's a voltage regulator (maybe 7812 or 7912) problem. In my case the problem was cracked soldering joints on the little PCB where the IC was soldered. Try this: open the case; on the sides of the big heatsink are attacched 2 IC Voltage Regulators. Check these ones for properly solder. After that I can power up my amp without problems.

I have another problem: now my surround speaker and sub are very very low volume even at 100%. Can someone help me?

Amp protection mode

Disconnect everything from the amp except the power cord, then power on the amp. If the receiver still shuts down, your problem is inside the case and unless you can perform electronic repair yourself you will probably need to take it in for service. If it does not shut down with nothing connected, power it off, connect one speaker or component and power on again. Repeat the process until the amp shuts down and you may have found the bad speaker or other component.

My Pioneer Receiver Shuts Power OFF within 10 seconds I put it on.

Hi Sharad! Do this maybe of help. Turn the power off. Wait about 10 seconds, then power up again. Get close to the reciever and listen for a click-not from the speakers, from the recievers itself. If you hear a click, you can assume that the power supply is ok for that circuit. This does'nt eliminate the power supply problem but it will do for now.You would have to check both the positive and negative voltages from the power supply to see if both are present or if one or both are missing. This would be dc voltages and the positive voltage must be equal to the negative voltage ,if one is higher than the other, the regulator transistors in the power supply maybe defective. The transformer can be checked for AC voltage before the power supply. You know that the secondary is good because the dial lights. For this kind of problems you better change the regulator transistors with desame number.
