I have the same problem. My sales person told me to cut the power to the TV for a few minutes and then it is restore. The problem is that this now is more than intermittent, and now occurs about 3 times per month. Also, my sound has never been very loud. We need to turn up the volume most of the way in order to hear it. I am convinced that the problem with sound is a defection condition from the manufacturer.

It sounds like you aren't cycling fully.
It sounds like you are on the TV (RF/Cable) input, then you switch input to Component 1 (for your DVD) and watch the DVD, then hit the input selector again, switching it to Component 2...you need to keep switching the input until you are back on the TV / Cable input.

LG picture quality

not true about the 200 hour thing, and the pic qualith can be a couple of things, if you have a cable box, it can be caused by a week signal, or a loose connection, if the cable is just going from the wall to the tv, you may want to reprogram the chanels

You need to replace the lamp in this set. The "pop" you heard was the lamp popping.
