Hmm... first of all, do not thrust every single FREE scaner! most of those are yust a bunch of viruses... if your pc is ina a bad condition, it is more probably a virus...

you wanted a "free problem scaner"

Download it here

that should do the trick... or you could try HijackThis, it is a free utility that scans for biger problems, and it is safe... dont forget to make a buckap first!

Computer runs slow

It sounds like you might have some type of virus or other malware.

Here's some things I would recommend to start with:

  1. Install and run a scan with the free version of Malwarebytes, removing any malware items found.
  2. Run a second scan using the ESET online scanner, removing any malware items found
  3. Install and run ccleaner to clean up unneeded temporary files.
If these steps don't resolve the problem, you may want to seek professional help.

Unwanted mails with links to different sites are delivered to all ids in contact list without my knowledge.

You may have accidentally downloaded or been attacked by malicious software which will hijack information from your computer. Run your anti-virus scanner with the option to check for malicious software turned on. If you don't have an anti-virus program you can try AVG for free. It is very user friendly. Another software which will clean out malicious software is CCleaner (two Cs) which cleans out unused Windows files and also cleans the Registry of unused clutter. Many techs will recommend using CCleaner before bringing computers into the shop. Both programs are free at downloads.com. Note- when downloading software from download.com be careful not to select or OK additional software appearing in the same download window. I have found some paid utility software claiming to clean up computers and offer a free scan will always returning a warning that there are serious problems, which they can fix for a fee - even if there is nothing wrong with the computer. Free utility software like CCleaner is always free (accepts donations) and does not make up false reports.
Disclaimer, there are other software packages available for free and for a fee which some of which I use. But for quick tech support I am only recommending basic free software which in most cases will resolve the problems.

Computer is slower than slow!!!!!! took 20 minutes for device manager to come up!!!!

Free Up Disk Space : clean up the unneeded temporary document and internet files on your computer. also use the Add/Remove Programs function on your Control Panel to delete unwanted software that are occupying space unnecessarily.
Fix Your Computer Registry : clean out your registry, you will need to get cleaner software to do a scan and fix. This software manage to restore computer speed back
Removing spyware should remove the irritating popups that they cause, and also improve your computer speed. One good antispyware that I would recommend is Spybot Search and Destroy.

I would recommend you to get a free scan on your computer now, and determine the main causes of your computer speed problems.

What is a serial number to register reg tool scan

I don't know about that particular tool, but you might consider a free alternative in CCleaner for cleaning up unwanted junk on your computer. I have found it to be as effective as many of the paid applications out there. Also, Spybot Search and Destroy can fix some registry errors and clean junk caused by malware and such.

I did a scan and I was told I have 325 Registry problums. I am disabiled on SSI I can no paid for repairs . Please Help this one legged Nam Veteran: ThankYou: Mike.K. Morris

Hi Mr Morris,

In part i agree with juyruyrfiujh, You don't have to worry much with the majority of registry issues, only ones that have been effected by virus's, malware etc.

Most standard issues are related to missing fill types and program shortcuts if you have uninstalled a program or updated your computer and unused registry entries.

Personally is use a cracking FREE registry/system cleaner called "CCleaner", with this software you can clean the registry, temp files, temporary internet files, you can disable start up programs to make the system quicker

Download CCleaner from here >>>>>

http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/

When you have the application installed double click on the desktop icon, a window will appear like this >>>
2cf7e8f.jpg

Click on the registry tab then select "scan for issues". When it gets to 100% click on "fix selected issues", a window will appear like this >>>>>>>
ccb2162.jpg

Click on "fix all selected issues", for first time use of the program it will ask you if you want to back the changes to the registry, it's imperative that you click on yes because if you don't the computer will not remember the changes and no registry issues will be fixed.
Repeat the process until no issues are found remembering to back up to the registry each time.
The cleaner tab cleans your temp and temporary internet files.
I recommend you explore CCleaner as this software is a very useful tool used by computer technicians like myself world wide.

Good luck and please post back if require anymore advice.

RegGenie

I also installed RegGenie, as my computer system (Vista) is running really slowly, and my CPU usage is often at 100% even though I don't have much open. Apparently it found 1,122 errors, 900 of them in 'unused registry keys', so I hit the "Fix" button. I was somewhat dismayed to be informed then, and only then, that there was a $40 charge to fix. I exited, and uninstalled the program, but before the uninstallation could take place, I got a pop-up saying I could now get it for $20. I exited the popup and the program uninstalled. I then ran a MalwareBites deep scan, which told me I had one infection. A Spyware Pass... (word??) from... guess who... RegGenie!

I ran several other spyware and botwares, all of which came up clean. I still haven't solved my problem of the high CPU usage, but thought I'd share my experience of getting an infection from RegGenie.

Popup stated "I-Worm.Trojan.b" found on your computer.

Download Avast from download.com Avast is a very good free software that will set the record straight on whether you have a virus or not. When you download it, change all the settings to high so it scans archive files as well. And make sure you do a boot scan.

Virus

I can solve your virus problem and the other issue might be resolved in the process.

First run a scan with this online scanner (Use internet explorer to start the scanner):

http://safety.live.com

After that scan finishes and has cleaned anything found, run this online scanner (Use internet explorer to start the scanner):

http://www.eset.com/onlinescan/

After that scan finishes and cleaned anything found download and install the free trial of ESET NOD32 antivirus. Yes, you just scanned with that utility, however the downloadable version has a startup scan that checks any files that start with the system. If any malicious ones are located they are quarantined awaiting your decision to restore them or remove them.

http://www.eset.com/products/nod32.php

After you install the scanner restart your computer! Regardless if it asks you to or not, restart your computer, then update the security definitions of scanner, then perform and in-depth scan on all hard-drives. After the scan finishes and has removed any malicious files, download and install the free version of Ad-Aware:

http://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad_aware_free.php

Once again, after you install it restart your computer. After the restart update the security definitions then perform a Full Scan. After the scan is complete and has removed any intrusions download and install Spybot Search & Destroy. NOTE: Do NOT install TeaTimer(.exe)! You will be asked if you want it during the installation of Spybot. This utility will cause a possibly fatal conflict with NOD32 and can cause complications with your system! So please DO NOT install TeaTimer.

http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-amp-Destroy/3000-8022_4-10122137.html?tag=mncol

After you install Spybot, restart your computer. After the restart update the security definitions of spybot and run a scan. After the scan completes remove any entries found then download and install AVG Anti-Rootkit Free:

http://www.softpedia.com/get/Antivirus/AVG-Anti-Rootkit.shtml

After installation restart your computer. After the restart perform an in-depth scan of all your hard-drives. After the scan download and install CCleaner.

http://www.ccleaner.com

After installing CCleaner you do not have to restart your computer. Simply start the application and run the cleaner. This will clean out the temporary directories of web browsers and popular applications where viruses will sometimes nest themselves waiting to strike. Cleaning out these directories often helps keep your system clean. After the cleaning finishes click on the, "registry" tab. Now scan for any issues. If anything is found select to fix the issues. When prompted, make a backup of the files and save this file to a location you can remember! If for any reason removing these registry entries causes abnormalities you will double-click the file that you just saved and it will restore everything that was just erased. This is your computer's life-line if for some reason a critical system registry entry was erased. On the bright side, removing these issues from the registry might fix your shut-down issue.

I hope you get this virus removed. Let me know if I can assist you further.

I can't defrag and DLL initialization failed message.

Run a free Registry scan will fixed DLL problem.
So, download a free registry cleaner and install the software. The free registry cleaner software automatically scans the registry, cleans it up, backs up the data for you to restore if you encounter any problem after you have cleaned the registry. The registry cleaner can also configure a startup organizer and remove embedded keys that are used by malware like Trojan, virus, dialers and so on. Registry cleaner software also eliminates the free spaces within the registry and traces of programs that are never completely uninstalled. In short registry cleaners are truly effective tool for safe and faster computing. So get it now!
