You have to play it in absolute mode. It works! I looped last night at the club.

It's the limitations of Serato. Because it's sampling in real-time, the signal cannot be manipulated by the CDJ800. Sorry, there is no way around this. Talk to Serato about this.

Serato does not recognise my technics turntable. The turntable is on and turning well but no response from serato. the arms in the serato do not move...help?

serato is a software to be used with an external soundcard it doesnt care what turntables you have. u have to a rane mixer or one that is serato capable in order to use it. then you have to go and link and sync your time codes

Ringing sound in background

sounds like there is a input to output loop of some kind. On some of my soundcards I was able to configure a virtual patchbay. Check around in the software for this and macke sure outputs are to outputs and ins to ins. Good luck.

My comp cANT SEE serato scratch live

You have to hook up the SL1 Box or the 57SL mixer and then install the drivers. If you are not hooked up to either of these it will say 'Interface Disconnected' or 'Soundcard Not Found'.

More than likely you have a bad switch, although this is not something that you could service yourself. I would suggest taking it to a service center in your area. Make sure they are Pioneer authorized, and know what a CDJ800 unit is!

I have a Stanton T.80 and Vestax VMC-185XL mixer. I recently bought Rane Serato Scratch Live which requires the turntables to be grounded through the mixer...however, the turntable doesnt have a ground...

Hi gium

Sounds like we have reached that point where progressive crossover in technologies means that the usual cautions of earth continuity for the tone arm when using a phono preamp has gone the same way as phono preamps on home theatre.

Have you tried switching to the line level and set the mixer up for that level also. That may reduce any gain induced hum. However it sounds like an earth loop problem, where both decks will need to be earthed in the mixer. Check also that all the gear is running of the same power point. Different mains phases are sometimes available near each other, having any gear (power amps also) on a different phase will cause an earth loop problem.

Is the hum all the time independent of the volume levels, or change with levels adjustments and not at all when turned right down. Let me if changing to line levels helps. We can try some more things, like connecting a temp hookup wire earth to the RCA earth to mixer chassis. Cheers

This may seem too simple, but have you tried flipping through your channels on your mixer, or try connecting the wires differently.
