Oven Burners I do not know what model oven this is, but it is a black single oven with 4 burners on top and a warming rack on the bottom. My question is a very simple one: how do you turn on the burners? There is a knob for each burner but when I try to turn them they wont turn. Any advice would be appreciated. This could be a thermostat issue or a burner issue. Most ovens have a top and bottom burner, if one of them is not working, the oven may not reach or stay at the right temperature. You should be able to get a replacement at home stores that sell appliances or order one online. They are fairly easy to replace. You may have to remove a couple of screws but otherwise they pop out and pop in. You can test the burners by turning the oven on bake and a few minutes later open the oven to see if the bottom burner is red, if not it may be burnt out. You can set the oven to broil and after a few minutes, look at the top burner, if it's not red it's likely burnt out. If both burners seem to be working, it is likely a thermostat issue. I haven't replaced one of them before, but you should be able to find instructions on youtube to determine if it is something you are comfortable replacing on your on.

Most likely cause is the bake element/ignitor.

most likely you have a bad ignitor.take out the racks and remove the floor,you'll see the ignitor,turn on the bake,the ignitor should glow and the flame should lite within 40 seconds,if it doesn't change out the ignitor,even if it glows that doesn't mean the ignitor is still good change it out.let me know what you find and next time send model number

is it electronic iginition? are you asking about top burner pilots? if so there are under the top in the middle beteen each side of the burners 1 pilot does burners on right and 1 on left. oven pilots are underneath you have to remove bottom door look in there at back and look up and you'll see it. if its a electronis ignition range you have no pilots!! glow coils and sparkers....

Remove the oven Racks. Remove the oven base plate. Turn the oven on. You can then see the oven ignitor next to the oven burner. If the oven ignitor does not glow a bright orange,replace it. About a $90 part.

You have two elements turn on the broil and see if the top element comes on if it does replace the bottom element.

I have a whirlpool gas stove oven fire will not go off when in off position. Is the fire suppose to go off completely?

Neal, the only thing I can bring up with that model number is a built in wall oven. You said the top burners work fine, so we are missing something here. Sounds to me like a stuck or shorted keypad. Catriver..post back
