One of the most important things for transfering files from a camera to a computer is the software installed on the computer. Perhaps you did forget you installed this when your camera was new. The software came with the camera.
Try reinstalling the software that came with you camera, or us an external memory card reader. You don't need extra software to transfer the file from the card to your computer, but you still need software to play the video. You also could try to install a free video player like gom player. There are more free players. There are so many different video formats, so chose one that can play lots of different video formats, if you don't have the Sony CD or DVD.
Okay, ours is a different brand (JVC) but they may have some basic similarities in function. To playback video clips stored on the memory card, put the memory card in the card reader slot of the computer and put the files onto the computer. Playback the clips from your computer video or photo file. (Ours won't playback video stored on the memory card through the camera.) To playback video clips stored on the camera hard drive through the camera, we open the viewer screen, look at the function keys on the camera body, select the "Play" button. On the screen it displays thumbnails of the various video clips. We use the toggle/function key to select from the menu containing options for playback, edit, delete, protect, etc.
Put a microSD memory card (limit 4GB) in the phone. Take a few pictures and make a short video .Use the phone menu to transfer the pictures an video to the external memory card. Use the media player to watch your recorded video. Try to play music and you will get a no content found message. Now, turn off the phone, remove the memory card and place it into an adapter that will connect to a computer by usb port. Windows should recognize it as a removable drive. If you look at that drive in Explorer you will see 3 folders. Pictures are in my_pix. Videos are in my_flix. Transfer .mp3 files to the my_music folder. When you put the card back into the phone you can play the mp3 files with the media player. Yes, I did this and it works.
I understand, if you are able to record on the SD card, make your computer to recognize it and lastly if you can transfer it successfully with no errors, we can make it to work by choosing an appropriate media player. I personally would recommend VLC player. Latest version of this software can be found in: www.filehippo.com Still if you are not able to open/run the media file. Let me know the type of file. I ll then according do a research and suggest a specific codec or a player that will support the file type. File type can be found be right-clicking on the file and selecting Properties.
you need to update your system software by connecting it wirelessly to a network.
make sure they are MP3 files and they are put in the right folders... via USB on XP your computer it is possibley k: drive?
put mp3s in the music file...regular audiofiles will not play,...depending on your system software WMP files may not player either.
Did you change the file name on the original video? Are you able to put the video back onto the camera? If you changed the file name, you can't put it back onto the camera. It also needs to be in AVI format which is the video format that the camera records in.
