RCA mm52100 I'm sorry for the description(wacky). It is just as you described in the Fl231 post. Double image/color bleed (like a 3D movie without the glasses), with the screen bowing down on the top and up from the bottom. The only difference is it plays fine for about 15 min. first then like a light switch boom 3D screen with bowing. Power it down for 20 to 30 min and then fine for 15 min. I hope this helps, I used to repair NCR cash regs so I'm not spooked by it, just not sure what to do next. Thank you for the reply.

You were right about it being a heat problem. I took the lower back panel off and laid a small 10 in by 10 in box fan blowing down on the components, and the TV has never messed up again. I know this is not a factory fix, but it works. For a TV that could not run 15 min. without going wacky, now it runs for 8 to 18 hours a day and never skips a beat.

Ok thanks for the info Now this is an indication of convergence issues(3d effect) the bowing issue idicates a complete loss of convergence power. which possible could be the convergence ic or the actual power feeding them. im feeling like it might be the ic overheating these get very hot. now the bad news. this is a set that is very difficult to work on. Rca has compiled a long list of problems with this set. getting to the chips is a chore. i cannot recommend repairing this set. I know no one likes to hear this.

there are several rca issued suggestions. the top one isChange C19542 on the Digital Convergence PCB from a 10uF 63WVDC capacitor (214698) to a
470uF, 25WVDC capacitor part number 214746.
Also change the 24V zener diode CR19720 (226446) on the Convergence Power Supply board to a
30V 500 milliwatt zener diode, part number 231211 this
but as i said this may or may not be the best solution

My rca projection tv has blue and green images like a 3D picture would without your 3D glasses, a double vision image and no other colors

sounds like the sensors are out of focus and your red sensor isnt turning on. look in the back of the tv for a master reset button or in your menu screen some sort of "Flash focus" or "convergence". They will realign the 3 sensors.

My rca color is off it looks like a 3D movie without the glasses? suggestions

your TV needs realignment.  This is adjusting the red, blue and green lenses in the TV.  This is called "convergence".  On some rear projection TV's this is covered in the owners manual.  It usually consists of a test pattern on the screen and a screwdriver alignment to make all the colors overlap one another.  TV's generally go out of convergence by either being bumped or moved.  Hope this helps.

Rca 52in rear projection hdtv red, blue, and green lines n double

tHIS is a convergence problem.. first question if you go into the customer setup menu. is the convergence option listed? If you have not got that option i suggest you read "the fl231 problem in the tips and trick section of this website. this can be a simple inexpensive repair..if you do have the convergence option then it can be one of three diffrent boards convergence power, convergence amp or small signal board. and will need further trouble shooting
