Question about Garden
Drive shaft inside does not seem to be making enough contact with the head cutter . it engages after i pull it apart and put it back together and then as soon as I rev it up the drive at the bottom disengages. But it still spins, free wheeling so to speak.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

I never heard it called a whipper snipper before but I am on this side of the ocean. you should be able to go to www.ryobiuk.com. Put in your model number and you should find a parts list for it.
Good Day. mate

hello,,There are only three things to cause trimmer head not to turn.
1.Outer shaft has sliped down from engine because screw has fallen out and ring has come loose,
2.Shaft has broken due to excess stress, such as putting on a differant trimmer head or binding up,
3.Trimmer head striped.
hope this helps, any comments welcome, thank you.

you've answered your question i would be inclined to be looking at adjusting the high low idle mixture settings and checking for a good spark also check the exhaust is free of obstruction may have a blockage
