there is another way of opening it. when it makes the sound like it is trying to open, push in and up 'SLIGHTLY'. this is a tricky technique to opening it but it works, it happens to my ~Xbox all the time. Give it ago.

everybody is having this problem. it seems that there is a rubber band that moves the ejecting mechanism, heat expands the band and makes it slip on the gears. you have to take your drive apart, take out the band and find a replacement for it.

The drive opens and closes using a black elastic band you can see it if you can get the drive open, it might have fallen off or snapped so just get a replacement
