Re: Xbox 360

The drive opens and closes using a black elastic band you can see it if you can get the drive open, it might have fallen off or snapped so just get a replacement

Re: Xbox 360

There is another way of opening it. when it makes the sound like it is trying to open, push in and up 'SLIGHTLY'. this is a tricky technique to opening it but it works, it happens to my ~Xbox all the time. Give it ago.
Good luck mate!

Re: Xbox 360

Everybody is having this problem. it seems that there is a rubber band that moves the ejecting mechanism, heat expands the band and makes it slip on the gears. you have to take your drive apart, take out the band and find a replacement for it.

Sprayed xbox with cleaner now only says open tray

It sounds like you have blown air into your disk drive, doing this spreads the dust which can end up over the lens, try a cd cleaning disk, this should remove any dust that has settled on the lens.

Most likely your disk or dvd drive is dirty. Run the disk through a disk cleaner and run a dvd cleaning disk through your drive.

If that dos not work, try removeing disk, close drive, turn off console, unplug power supply, wait 10 or 20 seconds, then reconnect power supply and try again.

If that fails, assumeing other disks will read, your disk may have a major flaw. You can check with your local game store, they often have a machine that may restore your disk, (most places that I know of charge like 1 or 2 $).

Xbox 360 will not read a disk. It says

It's a loose cable. Strip down your xbox 360 until you can see your DVD drive. Then replug all cables. It should work again. Otherwise it may be the lens.

Xbox 360 disk drive problems

Yes , open up your CD drive remove
the top cover ,turn the belt on the pully
CC like you did before to pull the tray out
till it stops. There should be two small tabs
on etch edge at the end of the tray lift them
and pull this should relase the tray from
the drive . now look down in the frount
of the drive there are to leaf switches on
etch side the they should be straight.
the cats may have bent one of them with
his paws . I guess the cat will stay away
from your xbox now.

hope that help a little

Re: Blinking green light/won't detect disk drive

If you still have a warrenty sticker call up Microsoft and tell them that your Xbox 360 has overheated, and tell them your serial code. They will tell you if your warrenty is expired, if it's not they will ask you where you live then pick up your Xbox 360 and fix it for free. If your warrenty has expired try this. Power off the Xbox 360 and when it is off press the eject button, it might open they tray. Or try opening your Xbox 360 and remove the disk drives cables from the disk drive and the motherboard and put it back together, you should never try the towel trick really, although it works it can also give your Xbox 360 3 red lights then you have to buy X-clamps and theormo paste, just do the X-clamps and theormo paste when you get one red light. I have had two Xbox 360's, when I did the towel trick it burnt the GPU, the other one a little componante came loose, sorry for my spelling. Hope this helps =D
