Pinpoint light spot on t.v.

I bought a 32 inch curtis t.v. 2 weeks ago and just noticed when turning channels a very small light dot on left side of t.v. Will this get worse, should I return to store while I still have time. Thanks, Helen

Thank you kindly. My last t.v. had a black line which grew and grew. I don't want another t.v. to do the same. I called customer service and I can take it back to the store within this month. I'm so glad I noticed this as it is hard to see unless the background is very dar. thanks again. Helen.

Hi Helen, You have what is called a dead pixel, sometimes it gets worse depending on the problem, I have seen the screen covered with dead pixels and I have seen tvs that never get worse than one or two dead pixels. I would suggest you call Curtis customer service and explain the problem. Let me know if I can assist further and please rate this solution. Lone99star

BLOWN PIXELS

Usually not but in some cases gently massageing the dot(tv turned on or off try both) with your finger may work (dont push too hard)

or put on a channel with static and try

your chances are slim though this is usually a defect in the lcd technology and most manufactures only warranty it for 5-7 stuck pixels

Sound on 2 channels a problem

I diconnected a recently acquired Panasonic DVR which was hooked up between my TV and the cable signal source, but this had no immediate effect on the two channels. I then reset the TV by unplugging it over night, and by changing the settings on the sound menu. These actions removed the problem. Is it possible that the DVR caused the problem?

Channel changing by itself.

I will tell you that westinghouse is the worst company among other brands. If you have warranty, return it and buy a sony or panasonic with a little extra money. It will help you later from buying another TV that is also as crappy as westinghouse's.

If you have external speakers near the TV they may cause this problem. Moving the speakers away from the TV and demagnitizing the set will fix the problem.
