I have all of the disks, but for some reason, disk number 3 has decided to not work. Any way we could swap disks?

I need a recovery CD for an ACER 3500 Series laptop, I have recovery disk 2 & 3 but not number 1. It doesnt want to start up. It keeps checking the disk for errors and says something about bad clusters?? Whatever that means. I am too scared to turn it off as I have to wait about 4 hours for it to scan the disk again. I thought if I had the recovery disk number one. That may help?? signed Novice

Here are all of the downloads for your model laptop. I believe you will find that the disk you need is the last one on the list.

If you are trying to recover your system using the build in partition, the key you will use is F11 at bootup...

as far as the discs, if you've already created a set with your system you can't make another. if this is the case, you can contact acer and order a set for your particular model.

if you haven't, you can make them with a program, (for acer i believe its called recovery manager?). With vista its easy to find, just start typing "recovery" in the start search bar and click on the relevant program. you can then make the discs with a few blank cds/dvds

Hi,

You can restore the computer back to factory default,to do so, follow the below steps: Turn OFF the computer, now as soon as you hit the power button, keep on holding "Alt" key & keep on tapping "F10" key, i.e Alt+f10, it will open the recovery console, select full factory restore and follow onscreen instruction.
NOTE: This will erase all the datas on the computer.

You can also create a set to Recovery disk from the recovery partition, to do so

Start Menu> All Programs> Acer erecovery management> Click Create Factory Default Disk, if you receive any error code or unable to burn the disk, please contact Acer Technical support at 1 800 816 2237 and order for an Recovery Disk.

Thanks and regards,
Jitha

Generally Acer recovery start with ALT+F10.
As soon as you restart the computer, hold down the Alt key using your left hand and start tapping F10 key using your right hand. Acer recovery would be started. Now, follow the on screen instructions.

Hi
Well this is a problem if you didn't make a factory disk nor backed up the system configurations then only thing that will work is to reinstall the operating system. Here is a trick that Acer will never tell you
press the on button and imedetly press ALT + F10 in this order ALT + F10 - ALT + F10 until it goes into recovery mode all the Acers that has 2 partitions have the recovery mode then click on recover to factory defult this will load the factory operating system + driversand applications
