Question about Vodavi 30-Button XTS Telephone

1 Answer

Relocating my extension.

I have a Vodavi phone. I need to move my phone to a new port and transfer my extention. My user guide says to dial 636 and the extension being transferred. I get a busy tone and the line does not transfer. The guide says a station lock may not allow this change. How do I know if there is a station lock and how can I disable it?
Thank You.

I also have an issue with an extension transfer. I am moving from one office to another and am unable to do a station relocate using "636" but station lock is preventing this. The station/port fixed number is 132 but the owner of that extension has successfully relocated his extension to another office.

Can you run me through removing the station lock?

The reason it doesn't transfer is because there is an extension plugged into the jack you are trying to transfer to. Unplug and do it again. If this is helpful, please post as such.

Extention 17 has no dial tone when line is picked up. It will seize the line but no dt,and it will not release the lin. We have moved this set to another extension #,and it works fine. If I plug jumper at...

Sounds like somethings up with port 17 or its wiring. The last test you could do is to take the phone to the phone closet and plug it into port 17 directly. If the problem clears then the problems in the wiring, if not its the port. When you moved the plug from 17 to 23, its probable that the functions wern't programmed on that port. With that in mind, if you change the port to 23 remember that if you have a voice mail attached to the system you'll have to make a new m box for that extension.

How do you get a Vodavi xts phone to ring for an outside line

You're probably looking in the EXTENSION USER'S GUIDE. The sytsem installation/programming manual has the proper FLASH codes and programming access to make it work.

As far as the random calling, try changing phones with another and see if the problem stays with the set or the location. If it's set, you have a bad one, if location, I'd be looking at a wiring error.

How do i change the phone extention number - Panasonic KX-T7665

It depends on your phone system, the smaller ones, 50, have modular jacks to distribute the extensions and you can simply move the pluged in extension wiring on the control unit, for instance if you are 102 and the other phone is 103, simply swap the plugs on the main control unit. The larger Panasonics have direct wiring so you need a punch tool and some cross wire to move an extension.

Extensions

I depends on what cards are represented on the punchdown. If there are extensions all ready working on the puchdown, the card is programmed correctly. Some cards only service 12 extensions (SLIB) and some will do 24 (DTIB).
