The pumping handle is very tight and difficult to pump. How do I repair this?

Open the cylinder that is inserted in the bottle, in other words, the pump mechanism. Often the rubber seal gets twisted which makes it difficult to pump, or no air is blown inside the container. Also add some ghrease to the rubber seal and the cylinder.

I'm not sure how to fill the thing. It's a 2 gallon sprayer, yet when I open the top (i.e. remove the pump mechanism), there is a chamber, but it only holds about 1/4 gallon. How do I get the...

it sounds like you unscrewed the pump assembly. that chamber is actually part of the pump and sometimes they do separate. try to remove what you called the chamber. if that is part of the pump then it has to come out before you can put the pump assembly back together.

I was spaying and pumping up the pressure, when pump went slack. I would try and pump it up , but spray would just dribbvle out and was weak in pressure

Hi and welcome to Fix Ya, I am Kelly.

One of the seals has failed in the pump. i.e cut o-ring or a leather rolled out of place.
Go to this link.. http://www.chapinmfg.com/PartsAccessories.asp
Find your model number and on the far right of the page is the repair kit for your sprayer.
This is the 6-6180 repair kit:
http://www.chapinmfg.com/ShowParts.asp?PartNum=6-8180
This is the 6-1925 repair kit:
http://www.chapinmfg.com/ShowParts.asp?PartNum=6-1925
The repair kits above are examples only... find the kit that is for your sprayer and order it.
Once you find and replace the damaged seal it will work fine.
Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

I have a 3 gal. back sprayer. When you try to presureize the tank to spray, The pump seems to work but there is no pressure. If repairs are necessary, where in the Redding, Ca. area is a repair shop for...

Hi there
There are many possible reasons for your sprayer not pressurizing. If the pump lever is moving freely and does not seem to be building pressure while pumping it is possible that the O-ring at the valve is damaged, the seal in the pressure regulator is leaking, the piston or the collar is worn. Any of these problems will require disassembly of the unit and inspection of each part. If you do feel resistance building as you pump but quickly loose pressure you likely have leaks in the diaphram, it's seal, the pressure cylinder or the tank itself.
If you are comfortable disassembling the unit and inspecting the parts for wear or damage most of the individual replacement parts are fairly easy to replace and readily available online from Solo or at many retail outlets and supply companies. Solo has done a great job with how-to videos and instructions for each procedure on their web site www.solousa.com
If you are not comfortable disassembling and repairing your sprayer yourself you can try contacting a mower/equipment repair shop in the Redding area as is seems the nearest Authorized Solo sprayer repair center is Cloverdale Saw in Cloverdale CA, 707-894-2273

Won't pump air in tank

Hi,
If the pump will come apart lubricate the rubbers that are on the end of the plunger with Vaseline then re-assemble the pump. If the pump does not come apart then it may not be repairable.
Also check the relief valve on the tank to make sure the sir is not coming out there...

I have a 2 gal ortho heavy duty pump sprayer and I'm need a new nozzel. Where can I find replacement parts?

I guess a company called the Fountainhead Group makes a lot of different sprayers other companies. They have repair parts available on their site. I replaced the nozzle and installed fresh gaskets with a kit from Lowes and with info from this site; http://www.creativeworksforchildren.com/how-to-repair-ortho-roundup-garden-pump-sprayer.htm

I have a 15 gallon Fimco trailer sprayer. Last

Bleach gives off corrosive vapors, so the internal parts of the pump may have corroded over time. Least expensive fix is to disassemble the pump, find and replace any corroded parts, but you'll be tinkering for a day and it may not be repairable anyway. More expensive but faster is to replace the pump - check the GPM rating and find it here for about $60 - $100. Good luck!
