You'll have to take the back off the tv and on your right you'll see two black button on the flyback transformer one over the other the other the top button is for the focus you can bright or darken the image on your screen don't be afraid it will not bite as long as you don't touch nothing but the button with a phillips screwdriver and don't have the kids around when you are doing it

I recently received an admiral tv and i was looking for the audio and video jacks/ports and could not find any... are there any ports? it is n admiral tv and the model # is GOJ 12028

If there are no A/V jacks on the set you can get a RF modulator. They are cheap on Ebay and work great. All you would do is plug in your A/V plugs into the RF modulator and then plug in a coaxial cable on the output of the box then plug the other end to the input coaxial cable jack on the TV. Make sure your TV is on the channel your RF modulator specifies.

Hi sletwin,
This symptom indicated of faulty CRT socket (picture tube socket). A few days or weeks time the symptom will remain and will not back to clear picture. Below is the sample picture of the socket where is connected to the picture tube.

You may replace it yourself if you have a little knowledge in soldering and disoldering technique. There are two wire soldered in this socket from the flyback, one is the screen and the other is the focus.
Try to buy from your local electronics supply, bring the actual sample because many types are available at the market.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!
Thanks for using Fixya.

Resolders the FBT-(flyback tranformer).Resolders the video board connections sockets holes, that the board connected to the CRT-(tv tube).Plug in the tv,to have power to the tv,take out the tv video board, for exposer of the CRT-(tv tube).Take an electrical wire with a good insalation in it,grounded to the tv steel frame some where.Take the other end of the wire go toward the open high voltage CRT-(tv tube).U will hear a pop sound, than ur tv CRT-(tv tube) is a 100% clean out of contaminations or u will hear a deeing sounds only, mean the tv CRT-(tv tube) it is to old to pop anymore, just let tv deeing sounds going on for like about 20 mins to rejuvenated the old CRT-(tv tube). After this repluging the tv video board for a tv signal and readjust the button on the FBT-(flyback tranformer) that said focus to fix the CRT-(tv tube) focus problems.

Tv won't turn on

I donot know the model # but if it is 11 years old, it is the classic we have a lot of bad caps. If the fuse is good, this is all you need. Maybe 10 or 15 of them can be found with the cap check. If the fuse is burned, replace the H.O.T., the poweline reg. and that small voltage reg just two inches away. [other side of heat sink] See the NTE cross ref bible for semiconductor replacement. The resistors are usually good. Caution High voltage inside!!!!!!!!!!

Color adjustment on Sony 36" Trinitron

Unfortunately, the CRT (Picture Tube) is reaching its very end. Your set is not feasible to service even if the CRT would still be available from Sony or any jobbers.

I would be seriously shopping for a new TV set!

20" Trinitron Wega

Good day.
First, Have your tv 's circuitry be resoldered. this might be a case of loose contacts particularly along the crt circuitry. the longer you operate the unit at this condition, the faster you are counting the possibility of shortening the lifespan of your tube. 9 years is quite a young age for a unit which has an average of 18years.

response is highly appreciated.

Loss of colour

With the set being 12 years old, I'm sure the picture tube is near the end of its useful life. You probably have a defective semiconductor, either an IC or transistor that has gone up giving you no color, but with the green picture, it is not likely worth repair.
