When you start the system, press F8 and then select "Last known good configuration". If it does not work the first time, try at least three or four times.

Virus blocking screen and demanding money

Restart computer or laptop. Press repeatedly F8 and choose Safe Mode with networking. Uninstall any other antivirus solution. Install AVAST - www.avast.com and Malwarebytes Anti Malware - http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_pro/. Update antivirus definitions on both of them. Run Malwarebytes and choose a full scan. After the scan is complete choose to remove all infections and the computer will restart. Start again in safe mode, choose Boot time SCAN from avast and restart computer. Delete all infected files - it will ask for your choice: 1- delete, 2 - delete all 3 ignore 4 ignore all etc. Post here the results. If in safe mode you cannot connect to internet download Malwarebytes in another computer and use a usb stick to copy to infected computer. When you will use usb stick in another computer again scan it !!!!

My laptop is automatic shutdown in few seconds what i had to do?

Restart the laptop, while pressing F8 to boot into safe mode. Watch and see if it will go any further in to the safe mode. If you are lucky to go into safe mode, then it will be easy. In safe mode, you will be using a basic operation of your computer. Leave it on, go on the internet using another computer and follow the following link and download Anti-Malwarebyte. Install it on your laptop and run a full scan. After the full scan it will require you to restart. Observe if it will restart normally into windows. If you boot into windows, install Kaspersky Antivirus 12, update it and run a full scan.If it does not boot into windows normally, then the boot environment has been changed or damaged by a virus. Then remove the Hard drive and connect it to a different computer that has a proper and updated antivirus and scan it. Back up all your data and take it back to the laptop and install a fresh operating system

Forget the password of unistall symantic antivirus

You don't need a password to uninstall it, or at least normally it shouldn't.
Download (as in Save, not Run) this http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Uninstallers/Norton-Removal-Tool.shtml  , wait for the download to complete, unplug the internet cable, run the Removal Toll and follow instructions.

My laptop is very slow, with MSN i can hear the other party but they can not hear me

While the system is booting --before the windows logo shows, hold down the F8 key. This will bring up a menu. Choose "start windows in safe mode with networking".
The os will start in safe mode. run a virus scan such as AVG antivirus , defrag the hard drive, then run scandisk at next reboot, then restart the system. If is still wont run normally, do the same thing then run a registry fixing program such as uniblue registrybooster, then reboot2_bing.gif. If it still won't run right, you may want to reinstall the OS and see if that works. good luck.
PLEASE RATE THIS ADVICE WITH SOME THUMBS UP!!!

I think it is a back light problem, so go to service center and ask them to replace it. Or you want to replace by your self, the back light is locate under lcd panel witch you should open lcd case.

Booting repeatedly at compaq window itself,it is not takes up WINDOWS OS.

It could have damaged the bios which is on the motherboard but sounds like the mbr or ntldr records got scrambled (love nortons)!

1.unless there is data that you just cannot live without restart the windows witha fresh install, format and reload

2.if there is data that you may not want to lose you can do an overrun if you have an original os disk by putting it in booting to it let it run hit f8 skip recovery console let it find the old windows if it is not too damaged it will replace the mbr or ntldr recored that are damaged only and get you back up & running (there is a chance if nortons damaged a lot or too much it will not be able to repair the files and will have to format the drive any way.

3. or take to a REPUTABLE repair center let them save your data for a resonable fee usually $50.00 to $100.00 (usually i can get pics docs etc emails are harder) then do item # 1

Compaq Pressario LAPTOP windows problem.

To recover your data try to start the computer in safe mode.
If this doesn't work try to mount your hard disk on another computer.
Restart the computer and after Bios loads up and press F8.
Then select Safe Mode and press Enter.
Run a virus scan, assuming that you have an Antivirus program installed.
You must have a good antivirus program .
Have you recently installed a new program and/or device?
You should uninstall it from Safe mode if so.
Have you used the System Restore option?
then try it.It may solve your problem.
or else try this
Take everything out- RAM, video card, controller card, and all the other adapters.
Disconnect the cables from the drives.
Turn on the system.
A series of beeps from the board should be the result.
If there are no beeps:
Make sure that the speaker is connected.
If the speaker wires are attached, then the motherboard or the CPU are the cause of the problem or it could be a short.
