Front panel connection to mother board Power switch pin

Hi careyfraser,

pcsyke_140.jpg

1. There are 8 wires from the front panel's casing, excluding USB connectors and front audio cable.

2. Just plug the front panel switch headers to the F_Panel main board connectors. 1 & 2 are positive, if the led do not light change polarity but Im sure it will.

Note:The mainboard provides a front panel connector for electrical connection to the front panel switches and LEDs. JFP1 is compliant with Intel® Front Panel I/O Connectivity Design Guide.

Hopefully this information helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

  • For the USB connectors

1. If your casing has a USB header on the front bezel you can put it on any connector. You can also purchase a USB module cable or an internal card reader and plug the headers to any of those connectors.

Note: Observe Polarity, do this Vcc, -Data, +Data, Gnd ,(NC) ground is always near to NC.

Plug it at your own risk, reference image are already shown.

  • Front Panel Audio connectors

pcsyke_119.jpg
1. Look for FP_Audio header from your casing and plug it to the connector.

*Asus recommend you connect a high definition front panel audio module to this connector to avail of the motherboard's high-definition audio capability.

Hopefully this information helps.

New case and new motherboard, when trying to turn on computer, power button doesnt work

Carefully double check the connection header pins and the leads that come from the front panel for LEDS indicators and push button switches. The motherboard manual will indicate what the numbering scheme is for the header pins (which pin is #1, etc.) and where they are physically located on the board itself. You may have simply connected one or more switches and indicators to the wrong pin. Getting them straight should solve the problem.

945GZT-M-Jumper Woes, No Power

Hi Deborah, if you have checked and double checked the front panel header connectors (inserting the pin headers the opposite direction helps sometimes) then it does indeed sound like your PSU is faulty. You would really need to try a known working PSU to verify this and take it from there.

Please let us know once you have tried swapping the PSU.

If you have the components spare, you could also try the motherboard/ram/cpu in another system.

Hope this helps.
