what is the status of print job in the queue? whether it is showing printing or no status in the windows. if the status is printing you delete all the print jobs and switch off and on .then try print something. if no status is there in the windows then you check whether the printer is off line .try make it online by right click on the printer icon then click on the use printer online.
You have downloaded the driver but have you installed it. I would check to see that your printer is using the new driver. Here's a link to a Microsoft site that details how to install printer drivers. Hope this helps and I'm not just telling you something you already know. Good luck!
If you need to change settings, click the button that opens the Properties dialog
Depending on the software application, this button might be called Properties,
Options, Printer Setup, Printer, or Preferences.
Select the appropriate options for the print job by using the features available in
the Paper/Quality, Finishing, Effects, Basics, and Color tabs. (Color Tab should allow you to change from only Black printing)
