How do you clear out information that you previously entered?

I have the TI-86 Plus & I was just wondering how you delete information that you previously entered, such as in a table?
I can't find a way to delete it or clear it out, so that I can start over on the problem.

I have a TI-86, whenever i input - it shows Ans- and then it show that is an error. how can i fix it.

The - key is for subtraction, an operation that needs two numbers. If you press - as the first key on a line, the calculator assumes you want to subtract something from the previous answer, Ans.

If you want to enter a negative number, use the (-) key on the bottom row of the keyboard, just to the left of the Enter key.

How to factor

The TI 86 calculator does not manipulate algebraic expressions. If does not have a Computer Algebra System or CAS. Try the TI 89 Titanium, TI92/92PLUS, Voyage 200 PLT, TI Nspire CAS, TI Nspire CX CAS. In Casios you have the ClassPad series (300, 300Plus, 330 Plus and the latest 400. The ClassPad 400 has a color screen. It is also orientable portrait or landscape. Other Casios are the Algebra FX 2 and 2, and the FX 9860 G Plus/ SD. In HP you have HP 50G, HP49C, HP49G+.

What is the different between ti-86 and ti-83

The 86 has more memory. It also has some advanced calculus capabilities the 83 doesn't. However you're much more likely to see examples for the 83 in textbooks and other references.

I deleted the information for my window for my ti 84 plus silver edition help

First exit out of any applications and make sure you are at the home screen. You can do this often by pressing "2nd" then "Mode" to quit or by pressing "Clear." Then, press the blue button titled "2nd" and then hit enter. The most recent thing you have entered in the calculator will appear on the screen. Doing this again will give you the second most recent, then the third and etc. Good luck!

Does my ti-86 solve sq. root problems

Yes, your Ti 86 should solve square root problems. At the HOME screen press [CLEAR] [2nd] [x^2] which gives the (Square Root Symbol) to display at the Home screen. Then enter the number you want the square root of and close the bracket [ ) ] and, press the [ENTER] key.

You can even get the square root of complex numbers too. Select the correct complex format in the mode settings. For example: I'll do one in the rectangular form by enter a number as (a, b). I then will go to [2nd] [MODE] then [Arrow down] 3 times and make sure the RectC is highlighted and selected. Then quit out of the mode settings screen and enter [CLEAR] [2nd] [x^2] [ ( ] [9] [ , ] [ - ] [4] [ ) ] [ ) ] [ENTER], this displays the SQRT((9,-4)) equals (3, 2); The real part is 3 and the imaginary part 2.
